Donald Trump doesn’t have the slightest intention of governing. His entire administration is just a gigantic Fuck You to all the people who dislike him. That’s practically the entire country at this point.

"Mobilizing military forces into cities is going to be seen as an overreach, and it's going to be now met with peaceful, boisterous moms, dads, grandmas. kids and their dogs and families showing up, saying, 'we're not going to put up with this authoritarianism..." www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

"I think at minimum there's needs to be an investigation into how they treated Alex Padilla." Senator Adam Schiff has already called for Kristi Noem's resignation, and remains focused on accountability for the rough handling of Senator Padilla.

If the feds’ objective is to “liberate” Los Angeles and California from its democratically elected leadership, then this not a peacekeeping mission but a program of invasion.

I just saw @padilla.senate.gov speaking on @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com visibly moved by the attacks on his own consituents. It felt real and raw. Way to take the attention focused on you and redirect it to those you serve. Damn impressive.

The treatment of Senator Alex Padilla is disgraceful — no matter how you look at it. If this is how the Trump Administration treats a sitting U.S. Senator, we should all be alarmed.

Donald Trump is using brave American soldiers as props in his political performance. It's unconstitutional, it's immoral, and it's putting innocent lives at risk. This isn’t leadership. It’s a dangerous abuse of power.

I don’t think that we can be certain that Trump said no. Not least because he lies about everything.

Hakeem Jeffries compared himself to Aaron Judge saying, “I'm not going to swing at every pitch. There's a lot of things to swing at.” Gavin Newsom is showing us that the only way to win is by constantly swinging.

NEW: Federal judge rules that Trump's activation of National Guard was illegal. Judge Charles Breyer issued the ruling Thursday in the case brought by California officials, but put the ruling on hold until noon PT Friday. DOJ has already appealed. Tonight, at Law Dork —>

This man is meeting the moment. Finally someone is fighting back!

TACO Trump now wants to make sure his rich Republican friends have enough migrant labor for their corporations.

Trump is president & there’s conflict all over the world and all around the United States. The Divider in Chief with a perpetually weak and feckless foreign policy while playing wannabe corrupt dictator domestically with incompetent thug stooges kissing his ass running agencies.

Trump promised peace through strength and all we got is new and escalating wars through weakness. But I have every confidence he will issue more very stern warnings on Truth Social to solve everything.

It’s not a game, dipshit.

We fund and arm Israel, who would never do this without our permission, but Lil Marco and his senile orange boss think there might be someone in the world who is as gullible as their domestic cultists.

It’s times like these when we are fortunate to have a Secretary of Defense who was chosen because he could do a lot of pushups on TV.

Schiff: "One thing that got lost in the horrendous treatment of Alex Padilla today was what Kristi Noem said at that press conference in saying it was necessary to have these troops there to 'liberate the city from the socialists' ... the fact they would use the military that was is unconscionable."

JUST IN: Judge Charles Breyer finds that President Trump exceeded the scope of his authority and violated the 10th Amendment by federalizing the California National Guard and orders him to return control to Governor Newsom. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Newsom on Trump's military parade: "It's a vulgar display. It's the kind of thing you see with Kim Jong Un, you see it with Putin, you see it with dictators around the world that are weak ... Weakness masquerading as strength ... that's about as small as it gets ... that's Donald Trump."

Newsom: "The notion that the US active duty Marines, these heroes, would be used to militarized the streets of an American city is an abomination. The Founding Fathers did not live and die to see that happen in this country for no reason whatsoever than vanity."

Newsom: "Speaker Johnson -- his eloquence was elevated when he called to 'tar and feather' the governor of California. Very religious man. I guess that's the spirit. The word of the Lord."

Newsom: "This is what he does. He creates a problem and then he tries to be a hero in his own Marvel movie ... he initiated those raids. He significantly increased the scale and scope of those raids. That's why he wants the National Guard."

"They took her in a car, in essence kidnapping her ... I met another young woman whose husband has quite literally disappeared" -- Newsom shares harrowing details of specific cases of ICE terrorizing immigrants in California

Incredible moments tonight from the courageous, powerful press conference from @gavinnewsom.bsky.social.....

Newsom: "He's been a stone cold liar about what he said we talked about. He never discussed the National Guard. Period. Full stop. I would love to share with you what he actually talked about. It would send shivers up your spine."

All media needs to report this in context: Kristi Noem outrageously threatened to “liberate” Los Angeles from its freely-elected officials and THEN when Senator Padilla started asking her about it he was manhandled and handcuffed as he approached her.

The Trump Administration's forcible removal of Senator Padilla today is un-American and unacceptable. Our elected officials have a right — and a duty — to conduct oversight of President Trump's abuses of power. As much as the administration wants to silence dissent, we the people won't back down.

By now, we've all seen the video of Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) being forcibly removed and handcuffed for asking a question during Kristi Noem's press conference. But what Noem said just moments before the video was taken is "classic authoritarian red-baiting," points out @davidcorn.bsky.social.

Kristi Noem must resign

Newsom's press office on the Padilla incident: “DIDN'T IDENTIFY HIMSELF!? It’s the FIRST THING out of his mouth in the video. You’ve detained a mayor. A judge. A union leader. Now a U.S. Senator. You’ve deployed Marines on U.S. soil. If a President did this abroad, we'd have a word for it: DICTATOR.

BREAKING: Democrat Mallory McMorrow just delivered the perfect explanation of how Trump's attack on Alex Padilla hurts all of us. Make sure every American sees this.

my full exclusive interview with Senator Alex Padilla after he was handcuffed at Sec. Noem's press conference today -- first on MSNBC. www.msnbc.com/the-beat-wit...

All Senator Padilla wanted was to do his job and get the questions his constituents had answered — instead, he was thrown to the ground and handcuffed. This is Donald Trump's America, where they attack our freedoms. We cannot be intimidated or scared by their abuses of power.

So Kristi Noem goes on Fox and lies that Sen Padilla didn’t ID himself, even though the video is there for all to see. But get what she’s saying: Assaulting and handcuffing someone for trying to ask a question is OK in any case? This is a criminal regime.

As anyone who saw the video knows, Senator Padilla *didn't* lunge at silly Kristi Noem. He "lunged" at the floor--when pushed by the America Gestapo trying to take away his First Amendment rights and his duty to engage in congressional oversight. This administration is full of shameless liars.
