“Berlin 1919” likely refers to the murders of communist leaders Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht by reactionary paramilitaries in January of that year during the failed German Revolution.
Many members of the “Freikorps” would go on to form the core of the SA and SS during the rise of Nazism.
