OP literally started this thread with "no one says they can't defend themselves" but for you to defend a genocide requires you to fight that straw man argument. Try again but without the straw man argument, try to steel-man the argument, as OP did.

You are so on point on this/recently

Yeah, I think it's taking the phrase to mean they are institutionally bastards cause they really close ranks and operate according to the lowest among themseleves. It is sad for the decent ones who want to do good but the experiment has been run long enough for us to have the answer.

Yep, I thought ACAB as I watched

I believe so, I was Googling this morning and saw it confirmed as real. Absolutely wild IMO, extremely hard to know what to read into but deliberate IMO. Has to be right? How could ANYONE fuck up a post about the American flag?

Yeah, Picard showing weakness, emotion, doubt, he's tough and takes responsibility but not at the cost of alienating himself or others around him. Everyone respects him all the more for it. Just one example of men being a lot more well adjusted in that show.

See if you can find out who they were and maybe you can be playing the whole set next time and enjoy the party!

If he wasn't on duty, would it count as impersonation?

A clear terrorist attack right?

And what do you suggest as an alternative? Bootstraps?

This one slaps!

I heard it went so extreme as to be a national network of antifa wanting to fight their opponents on the beaches!

Yep, there is no doubt US is at least on the road to a repeat of the widely-agreed worst chapter in human history.

It all just sounds a bit weird and not funny, I think I get what he was going for but duuude, don't double down on it if you couldn't pull it off the first time...

Beautiful and she sounds amazing. Sending love <3

I had a joke about loneliness but no one heard it

lol, love your colorful language and defo agree that they are wrestling extreme levels of cognitive dissonance and they are the least equipped to overcome it

Potentially still answering one way on reflex whilst some _thoughts_ start to edge in. Hopefully at least a certain percentage of that is persuadable by reality but perhaps not.

They should keep his work classified, it's a total headfuck

Yeah, at least putting it to some good use here but I agree with you, medium bad, message good.

Could you explain this a bit more? Watching California right now but not fully keeping up with it.

It's not difficult is it? The only way to make it difficult is to be a bigot

I watched drones getting caught in nets and falling to the ground yesterday and I thought "what a horrible trap for a child that might make, a toy with a bomb on it". I'd love to help with the clean up after... going to be an ordeal in itself

With a bit of luck he'll attend the scene and someone will pop a trash can over him, thinking him yet another noxious air-pollutant being used to attack the crowds.

I've recently been following through on ideas like this. Walking to get my take out let me read in the sun and play chess on the street against a streamer. I'm trying to be a whole lot less online and the qualia of life is different.

So you liked the movie then? 🙂

It's now wearing a mask and hiding out in the corridors of the old data centre, trying to make people think it's the ghost of Steve Jobs.

Don't forget the people dying because of the medicine stopped by Musk. It sits and rots because of his hard stop. He is a killer and a violent man.

Happy to see a very bloody nose on Russia, sad that any of this is necessary. Glad to see Ukraine generating front-page new on the Guardian again.

Honest question, but do you think the psychic damage she must have undergone from her absolutely foul time as PM must have broken her on some fundamental level? She seems to be spiraling and sounds completely unhinged and irrational but that could just also be US politics come to visit.

The way internet culture can end up normalizing almost anything is scary. People leaning into all sorts of dark tendencies because in the very immediate moment, on your own, it's easier to follow that line of thinking. People need people IRL to round off the jagged edges.

At some point I would love climate to get on the agenda and hear an overview on that situation and I'd love to hear any thoughts about how to keep political pressure up on that in with everything else.

I hope to visit Odesa one day and I am learning Polish so maybe I will be able to understand a little of the poetry being written there. I sent a little support your way!
