My issue with him Charles is not his ability to influence games this way, it's his inconsistency. Need an upgrade in the summer

Laughed when I saw his combined 11 earlier. Terrible pundit and co-comm

Crazy how, every single week, he writes an article telling the reader they didn't see what they saw and that the laws that apply 99/100 do not apply 🤯

Same as it ever was

Interesting, wonder if that would hold for other forms of protest inside stadiums, banners, flags etc.? 🤔

There is no such thing as St. Patty's, I'm Irish and live in Ireland, this is not a thing. It is called St. Patrick's Day or colloquially 'Paddy's Day'. Please fucking stop ✋️

His views and opinions haven't evolved with the game. He sticks to the same old tropes that he was familiar with 20 years ago. Very much surface level analysis with no awareness of context

Probably okay to watch the coverage if you're a neutral, not if your club is playing - fan led podcasts etc are streets ahead of sky/tnt now for insight and analysis of tactical nuance.

He did, and it worked well given the squad he inherited. I just think that now there is a base level standard established, he would be reluctant to move away from those principles of play, even temporarily. Not saying it's the right approach just would be very surprised to see us doing anything else

Social media age mentality, people are so impatient now. Everything is at our fingertips and on-demand. People now are used to swiping or clicking onto the next thing when something annoys them or they don't like. Imo that spills over into blaming individuals or wanting the manager out

Agreed but I'm not convinced he will change. Even at our lowest levels this season we are ultra competitive in games and rarely lose by more than the odd goal. Changing now means new 'unknown' low points. Arteta is a risk-averse type of coach

Great point, when players are carrying knocks and not in form they know they will still have to go again in three days and be held to our standards. That must piss them off at least a little when the need for new options was so obvious to everyone. I bet they felt deflated on deadline day and since

Reassess at the end of next season. See how we perform in the big two competitions and how the squad has evolved by then. He's done wonders to get us this far, deserves a chance to get us over the line with full preseason and squad additions hopefully 🙏🏻

This tallies with recent analysis done by John Burn-Murdoch on X, young men being radicalised (?) to the right in UK as well, trend is also apparent in the US I seem to recall

Remember, always stand for and vote for politics that works to improve the lives of the country's least well-off. It's the only way to build a better life for all of us. Don't punch down, lift up. The only people making our lives worse are the richest and most privileged of all.

Arguably Arteta was handed the worst Arsenal squad since 1995 when he took over

In my experience and opinion, they're a cult-like fan base, can hear nothing said against their club by others, totally blinded by bias to any reasonable observations

Honestly can't watch sky for any games he does co-coms on, so disingenuous.

Foul on Watkins and then two deflections for the goal 😒

The other side of that argument is how many players would move (even on loan) to play 140 minutes between mid-Jan and April, knowing they were unlikely to start ahead of Havertz? If they were available for loan in the first place it is because they weren't playing much to begin with

Most TV pundits aren't capable of properly analysing games and explaining what happened or is happening in proper detail so the lowest hanging fruit for them are narratives like passion, bottle, behaviour etc.

Scholes is absolutely clueless, worst 'pundit' on tv. He strikes me as being dumber than a box of rocks as well. At the stage now I avoid sky as much as possible and rely on AVP/Arseblog for proper discussion after games
comment in response to

In my opinion they like to appear to be doing *something* so they prioritise superficial changes to appease certain pundits, while neglecting deeper issues (like PGMOL) in the PL. This is because they have no clue how to or don't want to tackle actual the actual problems
comment in response to

Nah, just a bit like VAR at times, quick review and cleared.
Although I do wish VAR in the PL would review serious foul play and contentious penalty incidents in a similar way to the rugby, all mic'd and talking through the replay to reach a decision

Can't see it happening tbh. Villa will look for too much and we won't pay it. Though I would like it to happen as I rate Watkins and he'd be ready to make an impact straight away. Hope we can find a way to do a deal
