unironically one of my favorite things is seeing how an anime's dub differs from its subtitles, not because im diluted enough to think the sub is always more accurate (some subs are terrible), but because it is interesting to see how different people translate the same scenes!

for how long has Crunchyroll had "English [CC]" as an option, and why did they think automated closed captions would work when it can't even process Japanese words or names? Or apply punctuation in the right places? and why the hell can i not look at the Sub script while watching the Dub anymore???

doing the full weekend of ACen where i had to be awake when im normally asleep was a trip, but managing to be awake-ish right now makes me optimistic that i somehow will return my sleep schedule back to nocturnal within days. the human body is weird

kinda insane that in 2025 netflix isnt programmed in a way where it can understand that i might want to watch one anime in dubbed english and another in japanese with subbed english. like dont treat language settings on shows so universally please? ill adjust the show in watching when i want to!

its not a big deal but i think im just tired of seeing live action remakes that depend heavily on cgi and dont do anything ambitious. like a shot-for-shot remake is the kind of thing someone does for a demo of their skills not a full project
