Also, when I have tried to volunteer to help in red districts like Chip Roy’s, or to run against him I’m ignored.
I have also been explicitly told by members of the party that because my current rep raises a lot of money that’s what’s important. So actually fighting for democracy doesn’t?

As someone that is organizing a run against the 78 year old, 30 year incumbent in Austin I wholeheartedly disagree with this. I’ve been repeatedly told not to run that my current rep raises a lot of money & that they prefer more diverse candidate. They have asked for the names of my donors though.

Wasn’t Harris a very progressive candidate? And didn’t she lose to a far right maniac while moderate republicans and independents stayed home? There is a nuance involved and to suggest otherwise will further embolden the far right.

I want to run in a R+20 Dis & Im willing to do it if I have the support to actually fight to say things that may go against the grain of progressives to call BS from Repubs But it feels like there is a blue wall that is concerned more w/ “liking” their candidate than someone that can actually fight

Harris had 30,000 people in TX last yr and still lost. I do think more Dems should be in red districts, it’s a good strategy but it doesn’t warrant a push in either direction. Dems should focus on speaking to rural and center voters like normal people for a change and convey how they can help them.

I agree, there was a massive coalition of center & center right voters that hated Trump but were equally turned off by progressive messaging that stayed home during the general election.

I agree here. The general electorate especially in center right districts are turned off by progressive messaging. And the Dems have become terrified to offend anyone in the party thus losing Republicans or moderates that don’t like Trump. Most them stayed home last election cycle as a result.

This is a horrible take. When I think of moving towards the middle I think of not dismissing young men, not having a forklift holding up a fence in the border, not having everything be about identity politics.

One thing that has been frustrating is Ive reached out to multiple offices/people in the party, trying to offer my help to organize even just small events. Nothing. They are dismissive and act as if they know better. However I see them at parties on Insta almost daily.

I have repeatedly asked the local democratic party office for help organizing town halls/small events in neighboring red districts and have been completely ignored. However, I've seen the country chair posting to instagram daily at social events. I'm in central TX and it's incredibly frustrating

Should the Democrats put up more moderate candidates in states like Texas in an effort to flip red districts?

Run moderate centered dems in red districts. Don’t waste a fucking moment either, hold town halls in their districts, tell them like normal people how we can help them. Not Trump is a fascist. They won’t listen.

Hold town halls in Chip Roy’s district. Let the people in San Marcos, New Braunfels, San Antonio know. Let them come to you, get them on camera!!!!!

It’s kind of frustrating that Dems are not getting out in front of republicans, going to areas affected by these cuts, speaking to workers fired by Musk. Show the public what is actually happening!!!

I’m dead serious put me in touch with leaders in central Texas. I’ll knock doors. I’ve emailed offices here but no one responds

@mcuban.bsky.social I came all the way back here to get your attention. I'm planning to run for congress in Austin. I'm moderate, pragmatic, and I'd value your input. Democrats need to win, and there is a clear middle road that Americans are looking for. www.dillonfleharty.com - this evolving still

I’m going to run against Doggett in Austin. It’s time we get capable, serious, and young (I’m 40) candidates

(2/2) They sent her home unable to provide any treatment. She was incredibly upset, she wanted to have the baby, but was now sent home to hope she didn't get an infection, or worse. It's fucking awful, there is no other way to describe it.

(1/2) I live in TX and was recently visiting my father who was in the ER for chest pain. The woman in the bed/bay next him was pregnant and was admitted for excessive bleeding. I could hear everything as we were close and I'll spare the nitty gritty, but in short she was going to have a miscarriage

Hi there! Figured I try to get your attention here. I live in Austin and I’m laying the ground work now to run against Doggett next year. I’d appreciate a moment of time from you or your staff to introduce myself and give better context into who I am.

Why should they be paid 30% less than they are already being paid? Many grant recipient's are already underpaid and many in major cities live at or below the poverty line.

If you live in Texas and are impacted by these cuts, I've put a short list of resources together to help, while the resources are still evolving and perhaps limited I will continue to add to them and help in anyway I can.
