Let's hope Ukraine gets some long range cruise missiles and ballistic missiles into heavy production in the next 6 months. It would go a long way towards an agreement to stop long range attacks on one another. I dunno how long it will take them to build the missile they are working on with Germany.

They will likely move a lot of the most functional planes to more isolated airfields. Further away from Ukraine really won't help prevent more drone attacks like the last.
comment in response to post
Those bomber attacks have to be getting very expensive now. The missiles, fuel, and planes themselves are getting blown up regularly. I really really hope Ukraine has more drones stashed near these airfields to take out the remaining functional planes.

Two giant narcissist aholes can't be in that close proximity, it was inevitable.

I personally feel China taking Taiwan is inevitable, they aren't building massive amounts of military gear specifically for that purpose for no reason at all. If they do that they won't stop there alone, they will push into other disputed areas. That would get many Pacific nations involved.

North Korea actually does have an AWAC based on Russia's A-50, I would question the quality of it though given their missile parts pulled out of the ocean were extremely poor quality. I'd say Russia is probably desperate enough to send some of their people to help produce some for them though.

China controlling an area that 25% of global trade goes thru is definitely something that would hurt everyone, including Europe. Almost 80% of China's land is uninhabitable and unable to be farmed and they have a population of 1.5 billion people. They will eventually make moves to expand.

There would probably be enough votes to override his veto but Mike Johnson would never bring it to a vote in the House unless Trump wanted it. I'd say Putin is pissed they didn't know about the attack to warn him. Trump would have loved for Russia's planned mass missile attacks to go thru I'm sure.

It's not even hidden, Russia holds the loans on a lot of his real estate. They laundered Russian money thru real estate for decades, why he sells to people behind layers of shell companies. Then there's Deutsche Bank, Trump's old lender, which was laundering Russian money thru real estate as well.

Anyone with a land border with Russia needs it trenched, covered with anti tank pyramids, anti tank mines, and anti personnel mines. They should be blocking off the majority of roads into Russia as well to limit avenues of attack as well. Plus make loads of conventional ballistic missiles.

The best way to learn how to deal with these kamikaze drones, especially Iranian ones, is to support Ukraine in destroying them. If you aren't engaged in this conflict and improving your weapons against drones you are going to fall behind.

China wouldn't invade Europe but they will eventually try and take Taiwan and other territory in the South China Sea and if that happens they will likely end up in a war with the US. I have my doubts Europe would sit out China trying to gain dominance over the Pacific region.

Some Russians were saying the explosion only damaged the barrier and not the bridge pylon, they are full of it. You can see the initial explosion come out of the water right up against that pylon and some of the base even blows up into the air. The underneath has to be a mess.

Unless Europe develops their own stealth fighter/attack aircraft they need to be buying F-35s, it's the best way to make sure China doesn't dominate the air space with their stealth aircraft. Russia is in this trench war because of the lack of stealth aircraft capable of suppression of air defense.
comment in response to post
The EU needs to develop their own stealth fighter and bomber aircraft. The incident between India and Pakistan where Pakistan shot down a number of European jets with export variant Chinese planes and missiles should be a wake up call. China is building the crap out of stealth aircraft.

Russia really doesn't pose a conventional threat to Europe now many of their cruise missile carriers are scrap. What is left is mainly TU-160s which are similar to the B-1B Lancer. The TU-160 costs 170k per flight hour vs. 3K for the TU-95 per hour. The remaining planes will wear out fast.

2 got shot down, 2 were damaged by drone attacks some time back and could have been repaired. They have arse loads of these in bone yards but it takes 3-5 years and 350 million to refurbish one and under sanctions it's probably impossible.
comment in response to post
Well, I guess they do care more than I thought, they are trying to take it down. Russia will have to keep the bridge closed for some time to scout if the other pillars have explosives now.

Yes but Russia can supply their frontline troops with the land bridge and railroads across occupied territory so it's not as important now. The goal of Ukraine's offensive was to cut the land bridge and the Kerch bridge and thus supplies off to the troops in the Kherson region forcing a withdrawal.

It's absolutely nuts seeing small plane sized drones flying 1,000 kms plus over Russian territory and not being shot down. This should NEVER happen. Air defense and fighter aircraft should be shooting those down as soon as they cross the border. It shows how vulnerable and weak they truly are.

Russia has started escorting their shadow fleet tankers with military ships now. It remains to be seen if NATO countries have the balls to stop them while being escorted or not. maritime-executive.com/article/finl...

They don't care about it much anymore. When Ukraine was on the offensive years back taking out the bridge was an important goal to cut off supplies but given they didn't cut off the land bridge to Russia it doesn't matter as much anymore. They do take out air defense systems guarding it.

They performed really well against India's expensive European jets, they shot a number down. Take into account those are export variant aircraft/missiles, Chinese domestic variants are better. Also China's stealth jets are based on stolen F-22/F-35 plans, they are a big threat to anyone but the US.
comment in response to post
Ukraine single-handedly eliminated the threat of a Russian attack against Europe/NATO. Without all those strategic bombers to lob cruise missiles they aren't much of a threat anymore to their neighbors.
comment in response to post
Russia has 2 A-50s shot down and another damaged in previous drone attacks. Nobody knows for sure how many they have upgraded, operational, and in storage. Ukraine has probably halved what they had pre war if I had to guess. Now any Russian plans to attack Europe are pretty much impossible though.
comment in response to post
They put them in special compartments in truck trailers that opened on command and the drones were probably operated by both manual control and AI. They paid Russian truck drivers to deliver the containers to locations around Russia near airfields.

I'm sure they'll be fine.

These retaliatory missile and drone attacks Russia does cost half a billion to a billion dollars or more each to conduct. Their National Wealth Fund is now down to $39 billion. Urals oil is selling for $50-55 a barrel when Russia budgeted for $70 plus a barrel for 2025 so it's depleting fast.
comment in response to post
Russia's rainy day fund is running low and with oil prices catering things aren't getting better. They are spending 40% of the budget on the war and expected $70 a barrel oil in 2025, Urals is currently $50-55 a barrel. These attacks and retaliation with billions in missiles is going to break them.

I'm expecting short/medium ballistic missiles with multiple warheads fired at Ukrainian government buildings, power infrastructure, and ports. It can't just be the average cruise missile attack, especially with so many planes taken out. They will be too paranoid for a bit.
comment in response to post
I knew it could be done, been waiting for it for a long time. They have obviously had operatives in Russia for a long time setting fires. Putin will probably do some ballistic missile strikes on important buildings and power infrastructure again in Kyiv.
comment in response to post
The difference is Europe could put missiles into those factories and it would do far more damage than Ukrainian drones, enough to shut them down for a while. All of NATO in Europe putting missiles into Russian factories would set them back.
comment in response to post
It's so funny and gets little recognition.
comment in response to post
Maximum range on the missiles on those things averages 16 kms and it costs 25 million to produce. Granted they can sit behind the contact line a long way but you can't protect troops from airstrikes if you do. Pretty much a suicide box in drone warfare.

That's one of the reasons I'm liking X more for battling their BS nowadays, Grok makes it really easy to prove them wrong on everything on the spot. Here's the response to how much did the Regan, Bush Jr., and Trump tax cuts increase the deficit and debt.
comment in response to post
So they think the solution to a massive deficit is to cut more taxes for the rich? Lol. They literally have one play in their economic book and it's cut taxes and it has never grown the economy enough to pay for itself in the entire history of tax cuts. Trump's 2017 tax cuts sent us off a cliff.
