Just setting up the venue for tonight’s screening of Midsommar…

I’m convinced JD Vance was only in that conference with Zelenskyy last week because he’d sat on that lovely sofa earlier in the day, and wasn’t able to stand up without the cameras picking up his obvious arousal

Just finished reading my book on a fairly crowded train. Was a bit confused by the ending, but I did find out that Jackie from Newark pissed in a plant pot on Leeds Station platform on Friday night, and that she can’t drink rosé because it makes her flaps dry.

Kingy channeling his inner Janey!

Excellent weather today for a bimble up the hill. Sunny, about 6°C, dry, and some lovely views (and a very handsome companion). I also decided a bench is the best legacy one can leave. Thanks, Ali!

Just spent the evening screening Vroom (1990) in the town it was filmed. Imagine someone watching Rita, Sue, and Bob Too, but repeatedly nodding off, then trying to write down as much as they can remember the day after, then Google translating it into Chinese, then back to English.

Grand Theft Hamlet is very good. Heartily recommend

Just gone 6pm, and I’m already under a blanket with a big mug of tea and about 2 hours left in an excellent book. I’m not sure the rest of the weekend can improve upon this

A propos of nothing, i just remembered the period in history when you would spend £2 to phone a premium rate number, to receive a bleepy version of Hollaback Girl to use as your phone ringtone. It’s the 90s equivalent of ‘We Drank From The Hose And Didn’t Know What Pasta Was”

We’ve ‘sold’ 1 (one!) ticket for No Other Land tonight. It’s a free screening, in a town that is generally very pro-Palestine. I’m not sure what we’ve done wrong, are people just entirely out of empathy now?

Been going back through my TBR pile to try to reduce it a little. I just started on Wait Until Spring, Bandini, and feel a little annoyed that I just slept on it for years

Freddie, you have absolutely just fucked that up

Never in my life thought I’d have to break in slippers.

I’m three years (and two weeks) late to the party, but I’ve finally got seeing to watching The Green Knight, and bloody hell it’s good. Proper Christmas film and everything

Minah and Linda on the #traitors be like youtu.be/yo8Aqt3YJm0?...

Couple of street toddlers having a chat this morning.

I get so excited at this time of year to start my new StoryGraph challenge, I end up with about 6 library books on the go at once.

Just spent the evening reading Joelle Taylor’s C+nto. I wish I could articulate how I feel about it, but I’ve just found that I do not have the vocabulary. I am staring into space, occasionally explosively exhaling, if that’s any indication.

First walk of the new year, and it was a chilly one!

Just started reading The Rum Diary, for my January book club. Sitting by the window, looking out at the frost, and reading about drinking in a very hot climate isn’t really doing it for me though.
