It’s on TV tonight in the UK, Channel 4. Not saying you should get a vpn and watch it on the All4 app, I’m just saying you could.

Far and away the worst film we’ve screened. People left halfway through.
Someone put earphones in to listen to a podcast instead.

That’s the script, essentially. With occasional bits of dialogue that sound cobbled off an overheard conversation about a seventh generation pirate copy of A Clockwork Orange for Jim Broadbent to struggle with.

I think the impact could massively depend on the child, because there’s no dialogue and minimal sound (other than wildlife and distressed animal sounds), it does absorb you and can get very intense. If you’re just looking to relax I can see where the issue was!

It’s pertinent to me anyway, I was suggesting it for a screening at my local community cinema, and having watched it I thought it would be good to open up to children as well. Might have to review with a more child-perspective lens!

That’s fair, I think sometimes parents should watch certain films before showing to their children, especially if they are not marketed as specifically children’s films. I expected it to be more adult-oriented than it was, but that may be the way I came across it.

I just watched this alone the other night (well, with my dog). It’s so lovely, dog wasn’t bothered. I think a a child if have loved it, I didn’t feel it was that traumatising (and a lot of the threats were overcome very quickly)

I would imagine they would be absolutely terrified, I’ve not seen a single one of these hearings that inspired any confidence.
“Are you currently able to do the job you’ve applied for?”
“No.”
“But are you willing to learn?”
“Again, that would be No.”

I’m watching a couple of them on the opposite neighbour’s roof right now. It can’t be as windy up there as it is down in the street

Best purchase I made in years. Getting books onto it is more seamless, I do use a kindle scribe for notetaking, but trying to ‘send to kindle’ is very hit and miss, hence I do all my reading on the kobo.

I love my kobo, and I came across from kindle touch. I’m uk based, so the main driver for me was the fact I can get library books on kobo, which isn’t possible with kindle in the uk.

I thought his recent pronouncement that people shouldn’t expect a work/life balance was bad, but it’s like he’s actively trying to be a prick now for coverage

I’d prefer it as an epub to be honest, rather than physical, I’ve got issues with my eyes for the next few months so being able to control lighting and type size is crucial. I might have to bite the bullet and order the paperback (and a head torch) from Amazon.

I can’t find this book anywhere! I can find lots of books about it, just not the actual source.

I loved how everyone acted shocked when he said that, like ‘we did say you save people during the day and murder people at night, but bringing up Harold Shipman is a bit off, Kaz’
