While so much of the early catalog is insanely great: Shake the Disease, Never Let me Down, Black Celebration, Everything Counts… the list is long. But my hot take is: seeing them on the Songs of Faith and Devotion tour starting the set with Higher Love… man… It was a religious experience.

Michigan had terrible ice storms. She’s got thousands of people without power, water, supplies. She came to grovel for help from trump, and he fucked her, putting her in a spotlight while signing an executive order. She didn’t want to be there, but she’s trying to help her state. Whole thing sucks.

I also recognize—that movie was straight up made for me: kinda slow, no dialogue, weird post-apocalyptic story you have to piece together through environment, tragic death scene(s), amazing music, and anthropomorphized animals. ChatGPT couldn’t write a better barclay-ass barclay movie.

Granted it's been a decade (or three)… but, yeah she puts on a good show. I saw her one time in the 90's at The Orpheum in SF... it was seated (which was weird—we still stood), and my god. It was one of my favorites.
