Nice playlist! I'm a huge fan of this version of Oh! Darling from the Anthology 3. I have another take of it on a bootleg vinyl record that is outstanding, too. What a songwriter and perfomer! www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXkU...

Your Juneteenth post got me thinking about Curtis Mayfield, who was enormously influential on rock, tackled societal issues in his music, and is one of the great American songwriters. RIP www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5PB...

Right? Amazing performance of a powerful song. Every time I watch it I get goosebumps.

Glad you enjoyed it, too! RIP George Duke.

lol I totally f'ed that up - I read this as a comment on my Roger Waters - Pigs post! I DID see that tour live, and it was the most elaborate set design I've seen. I have NOT seen LL Cool J, but that would be a treat! The high five still stands, though :-)

Nice one! As @gwill2k.bsky.social said the other day, we could use his voice right now.

Nicely played.

I got to see him on the tour he rescheduled, in Detroit, and it was pretty great. The most elaborate set pieces I've ever seen.

Right? So good! And they did that with a bunch of the other ones.

Now these guys we could still see live! They're on my list...

Thx :-) An easy pick, but I like that this one has the (Three Different Ones) in the official title! Because there are three pigs in the picture!

Love Texas Sun! Going to see Leon Bridges this summer, and I'm totally stoked for it.

It's so great! They're walking down the street towards the studio, a camera moving in front of them to capture the action.

I love this track! Have you seen them do it on Letterman? It's on the Tubes... So good!

That was the show, before that, there was a movie in 86! www.youtube.com/watch?v=omOZ...

Queen's answer to that question: Who wants to live forever? Who remembers Highlander!? Saw it on HBO a million times as a kid.

Fantastic pairing. Christian McBride is amazing. In return for sharing that great recording, I will share with you this George Duke performance with McBride on bass. He's inspiring. Does a little solo at about the 4 minute mark. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHFJ...

Still love this record! For whatever reason, my brain has kept a pretty vivid memory of when I bought my copy on vinyl when it came out. I grabbed a new copy, went to the counter, and the record store clerk said "we have a fresh used copy if you want that." So I grabbed that. Fascinating, I know :-)

Love this track! Pulled the album out on vinyl this morning and jammed it while I was working. Tons of great songs on that record.

This one might be my favorite! It fluctuates, though...

Agreed! I've listened to that song like a million times and I love it every time.

Still miss this guy. RIP. Got to see him a few times in NYC after this album came out. Great shows, before things starting going south.
