Like all other BBC radio stations, it's seen fit to discard its demographic in favour of one (and it's the same one) that possibly doesn't exist at all. 40-something mood mums tend to tune into Heart, Magic & Classic FM. Art isn't there to make people's cosy, entitled lives even more comfortable.

Best thing ever written about the Clash was (the) James Truman's MM review of London Calling where he compared "Spanish Bombs" to Charlie Haden's Liberation Music Orchestra; oh good, there's a hook for me to hang on at any rate!

yeah, circa '86 he indulged in some ill-advised slagging off of the Mary Chain (whom I'd ADVISED to keep the feedback/did you know about AMM/you're welcome) and I had to dress him down quite severely about that.

Even Cilla duetted with Bolan on "Cosmic Dancer." Glasto's fine but it's once a year and BGT/The Voice clearly isn't sufficient. I'd be looking at gaps in the market etc. if I were running things there.
