Hey! I don't want to come across as humorless! It's just that, like Emily E., I'm tired of the idea that Metro officials can't get together - ever - unless it's a properly advertised public meeting. Wouldn't hurt for these folks to have more time just to shoot the shit.

I think stadium planners take the orientation of the field into consideration for an outdoor field based on angles of the Sun. Obviously, not important for an indoor stadium. I'm no expert in the field, but I feel like I read that somewhere.

Speaking as a former member (from way back), it will probably need to. It already takes a LOT of time. At the very least, much more extensive staffing will be needed so members can address the needs of twice as many constituents. And twice as many development issues.

I've heard that @nashvilledot.bsky.social is good at fixing potholes reported via @hubnashville.bsky.social - often in less than 24 hours. Blocked bike lanes - not so much. Same location, new pic.

Playing devil's advocate here: I think the additional fees for the USD may be tied to the higher concentration of fire halls within the USD, not a higher number of fire calls.

meet the principles of Safe System Planning - or Vision Zero. Forced to wait an unreasonable amount of time, people will (reasonably) go ahead and walk w/out a walk signal. BPAC friends, please raise this with NDOT and push for a people friendly downtown, not car friendly. @nashvilledot.bsky.social

can back up at this intersection. It's arguably THE commercial center of downtown Nashville, so high levels of all types of traffic are to be expected. Unless Metro's traffic engineers are using 1950's standards, however, pedestrians must be prioritized - not cars. The current timing does not . . .

At Church and Rev. John Lewis Way (5th S.), the timing is excessively prioritizing vehicular traffic over pedestrians. I timed it this morning. For a full cycle of green in both directions, the ped walk signal is 7 seconds, with the total vehicle green light at about 120 seconds. Yes, vehicle . . .

My recollection is that the MDA calls for Fallon to design and build the road, with design approval from Metro. But I haven't looked at that section recently.

I'll get better data later (when not at work), but there are issues with some Church St. ped signal changes. At Rep. John Lewis Way, for example, pedestrian crossing time has been drastically reduced in favor of car traffic through the intersection.

A person (bicyclist) entered the path of an inanimate object (SUV). Was the SUV driving itself? The driver of an SUV crashed into the bicyclist. I'm not assigning fault because I know nothing other than what was in the post, but words matter.

Over the years, Metro has included plaques in some buildings listing the members of Council at the time. I have to admit I was disappointed it wasn't done for the Downtown Library, which really is a fantastic building.

Are you fairly new to Nashville ben? Unfortunately this happens every time there's a reappraisal. The actual tax rate goes down and everybody complains about paying more taxes because the property they own has increased in value.

I accept that "every street" can't accomodate all modes. This is a new street for an area envisioned to be a vibrant activity center, not primarily a place people drive through to get somewhere else. If this isn't a street that can/should be a complete street, then the policy means nothing.

I'm hopeful the bike community is big enough now that we can stage weekly critical mass rides up and down the new boulevard.
