But it’s who they are.

It’s Alabama. I’m sure they loved it.

But he’s happy to bring a child with cancer to the State of the Union as a prop.

Particularly The NY Times. Very different volume and tenor to their reporting on this.

Where’s the NY Times’ thousands of breathless articles, a la Hillary Clinton?

If we were going to have a king, at least we could have chosen a smart one.

But note how they don’t submit this “evidence” in court.

In fairness, it probably felt like a landslide to him given that he lost the popular vote by several million in 2016.

Governmenting is hard and these guys clearly aren’t up to it.

And really just hateful and mean. The worst of us.

I think that’s the picture when they were celebrating the House overturning the Affordable Care Act. Nothing more fun than taking away people’s healthcare!!

I’m hoping this is a lesson not to take a blatant pathological liar at his word.

How anyone thought Trump could do this when he couldn’t even manage to pull off “infrastructure week” is beyond me.

Because you want some NY real estate guy trying to negotiate the end to a war. Embarrassing.

He’s got the stick-to-it-ness of a gnat.

That seems like a really smart idea. And when people start getting sick and dying, it will be Biden’s fault.
comment in response to

I seem to recall Trump saying he’d have this resolved on day one. The guy proposes simple “solutions” to complicated problems and for some crazy reason people believe him.

I guess I’m glad I’m not living in a red state.

This means we’re all “potential terrorists”.

We’re at the handing out the goodies stage.

NOTHING makes Trump madder than when the people around him tell the truth.

Well, they are — rights for themselves. Just not anybody else.

How has it taken everyone so long to learn? He tests you to see if you’re weak, and if you are, he keeps backing a truck over you. Notice how “governor” became Prime Minister after Carney stood up to Trump? And also notice how Columbia is still on a dog leash?
comment in response to

And how do you know you won’t be one of “those people”?
comment in response to

When they say “persecution” they mean they are being prevented from imposing their religious views on everyone else. No one is preventing them from having those views and in fact they are favored (tax exempt status for churches that preach political views, vouchers to Christian schools, etc).

I suspect they’d rather have those babies living on the streets.

Cringe.

Columbia is looking stupider and weaker by the day. I wonder how it feels to be Trump’s Ivy bitch.

When you put the most noxious Americans in charge of the country.

At least we can sleep at night knowing he hates himself more than we hate him. When your ambition outstrips your decency.

But talk to the average American on the street and they will adamantly defend the “right” to be a billionaire. We’ve been totally brainwashed. Tell me one good thing that comes to a society where 20 billionaires control more wealth than the majority of Americans?
comment in response to
post
Is that new?
comment in response to
post
One of the greatest hoaxes on the American public is that billionaires are a good thing. People who don’t have two nickels to rub together will defend it to the hilt. Easier to persuade Americans their lives are being destroyed by immigrants and poor people than by the billionaires fleecing America.

Well, in fairness, they signaled it was optional with the “with all deference to foreign relations” part. They gave him the roadmap and he followed it.
comment in response to

The people who voted for Trump should not be exempted from his policies. This is what they asked for.

And much of America is cheering it on.

Unfortunately, yes it is.

And the Supreme Court has helped him do it by putting the “foreign relations” Easter egg in there.

Perhaps in 10 years Americans will feel the same way about living in a dictatorship.

Ross “it’s not that bad” Douthat. He’s one who is so excited by the notion of a white Christian patriarchy that he’ll continue to make excuses for the rest of it.

There are a lot of people in this country who love this stuff. Watching people snatched off the street and put in prisons in El Salvador thrills them. And it’s the reason they’re saying they’ll be patient on the tariffs (in addition to a deluded belief that “he knows what he’s doing”). Frightening.
comment in response to

I thought this was the war he was going to end on day one? So we’re back to just blaming Biden.
comment in response to

The only person in prison over the Epstein atrocities is a woman. Fits.
comment in response to

But now that El Salvador is “refusing” to return him (colluding with Trump, surely), the Supremes will say “well now it’s in the realm of foreign relations so not much we can do.” They practically coached him on this with their “all due respect to foreign relations” comment.
