Hmm. I'm very curious where @mclachbot.com got mentioned. It wasn't on bsky (nothing in the mentions)

Since 2017, there have been only 4 times that an U21 winger played 2000+ mins in a top flight league, took more than 3 shots per game, and had more than 2.5 successful carries into the box per game. One is Lamine Yamal The second is Estevao The 3rd is Garnacho. As is the 4th.

After KDH, I'm never looking at eye popping numbers of a player on a dominant championship team the same way again.

Smart lad. Absolutely everything about his stats screams "massively inflated by playing for Barca"

This must go so hard if you’re stupid

If you would like to deploy @cfcnews.mclachbot.com for your club, the new bot is now feature complete (missing an observability app, but you can run without that) and is available here: github.com/dmoggles/new.... Its well documented, but please get in touch if you need help setting up.

Some good stuff from @kierdoyle.bsky.social on Estevao. youtu.be/PrDqzqvEvw0?...

Oooh, ooh, I have a model for this which I never released publicly because I was 100% sure people would laugh at me.

Negotiating my next head coaching contract while on holidays

Once again, I'm highly in favour of letting these people consume all the horse dewormer they want. Honestly, the more the better.

Shit, I did not test if mclachbot graphics work for double digit scores.

Don't have the "prettier" one in all match report because that requires some contextual history that isn't available for Club World Cup. Will fix that tomorrow

Listening to @kierdoyle.bsky.social's stream from earlier today and just want to pop in to say that there will be Club World Cup data on @mclachbot.com (I'm working on all the hookups right now) How it will be presented in McLachApp I don't know, but there will be match reports published.

Numbers

I've used "No Sir, we call it Mr Coffee" at work like twice this week alone.

There's 100s of people here with unbelievable football insights and somehow we're giving Shaun Wright Phillips and Ray Parlour platform to vomit their undigested thought slop into public domain.

Right, see you all in 5 years

I'm offering my services to professional athletes. All I'd do is, whenever they negotiate a contract, I'd sit there and occasionally say "can we get this in writing?" I'd charge £500,000 per negotiation and it'd be totally worth it.

No. Next question.

I'm absolutely serious when I say let them do this.

There's absolutely nothing in the data to suggest this is someone we should be investing in. I saw people suggest he's a good passer? No, he's an incredibly conservative passer, that's not the same thing. Nothing in the air. Low volume of defensive engagements. Bad passive defending numbers. Why?

An unfathomably dumb transfer

Another really good and balanced video from @kierdoyle.bsky.social, that i mostly agree with. The thing I ultimately don't love about this deal is that you can get Garnacho, who I think is a better player right now with more potential, for likely less money.

£15m and £150k a week is my absolute top offer for Maignan and to be honest I don't feel all that great about that either.

Rodrygo was pretty consistently the fourth best attacking threat on these Madrid teams. These are not the guys you want to spend huge money on.

Honestly, just stay in Milan, fam. We're good.

At anything close to his release clause, I'm incredibly out

People on twitter are freaking out that Maignan would be offended by our low initial offer to Milan and won't want to come because of that. Absolute freaking collection of Mensa members over there.
