My obvious solution to this incentive misalignment has been to get my company to start a sports trading desk. So far unsuccessfully

If sports analytics paid anything close to quantitative finance, there would be a Dmitry-shaped hole in my office's front door right now

Hi Dave, if you update to version 2.0.0 of blueskysocial, the letterboxing issue has been fixed.

That's basically the model! Very very briefly, it measures how close to a theoretical set of targets just inside the corners of the goal finishers put the ball, even if they miss the target completely. It's based heavily on the work of x.com/devinpleuler (don't think he's on bsky)

And of course, another reminder about my bluesky python API (which is used by the bot), which is available here: github.com/dmoggles/blu... and is also on pypi: pypi.org/project/blue...

There's a frightening number of Americans that apparently ended up in Switzerland when intending to go to Sweden or Austria instead of Australia, but intending to go to Czech republic and ending up in Chechnya instead would probably be the most jarring experience

His contract situation is really complex over there.
Barcelona owe him a lateral metric fuckton of money (he deferred a lot of his comp when they were having money issues) and he'd be crazy to walk away from that

Don't agree on best years ahead, he looks like he's in decline to me. His last 3 years have been very average

Some kind of LB cover if there's good opportunity and that's probably it unless you have opportunity to grab a legit difference maker

This season was the first time in his career that Noni played more than 2000 minutes in all competitions. He's 23.
He does fine on the other metrics.

I did see that. Red flags galore imo

I think the off the pitch stuff is a legitimate concern. The on the pitch stuff, not so much

I will say though, that the off the pitch stuff is a legitimate concern. If the above doesn't end up happening, this is probably the biggest possible risk why.
