#NowWatching The Rehearsal - Nathan Fielder Season 2 is now finally available in the UK ❤️ 🤯

#NowPlaying Even As We Speak: The Music of David Van Tieghem - David Van Tieghem If Kenji Kawai’s score for Ghost in the Shell decided to throw a party, then it would have sounded like this joyous and lush compilation of percussionist David Van Tieghem.

#JustWatched Mandy - Panos Cosmatos I don’t think I appreciated back in 2018 just what an intoxicating acid-trip into hell Mandy was. The brooding cosmic visuals and Jóhann Jóhannsson score were extremely affecting and have left me eager to make the journey again.

#NowPlaying Blue Prince - Tonda Ros Score - Trigg & Gusset This week has been spent piecing together my journey towards the elusive Room 46, slowly. Despite my slight progress, every trip has felt rewarding and the atmospheric score pairs perfectly with the lonesome exploration of Mt. Holly.

#NowPlaying Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements - Stereolab Nothing quite gets the foot tapping like Crest. Extremely exited by the news of Instant Holograms On Metal Film dropping in May.

#NowPlaying F-Zero X Expansion Kit - Taro Bando & Hajime Wakai Newly added to Nintendo Music and as you would expect, it rips extremely hard for 13 minutes. Bring on the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct!

#NowPlaying ❤️ Mystic Voyage - Roy Ayers Ubiquity Roy Ayers made music that could brighten any mood.

#JustWatched Sing Sing - Greg Kwedar A powerfully poignant and impressively performed story about the potential art has to help rebuild lives.

They did it! 😍

#JustWatched Get Shorty - Barry Sonnenfeld Not sure enough praise is given to Gene Hackman’s performance as a bumbling Hollywood producer in this fun and focused adaptation that absolutely flies by.

#JustWatched Night Moves - Arthur Penn Gene Hackman as a Private Investigator caught in the middle of a sordid neonoir conspiracy, with an on-point score from Michael Small. Couldn’t ask for more from a Friday night film.

❤️

#NowPlaying Total Blue - Total Blue Since watching To Live and Die in L.A. at the weekend I have been revisiting one of my most played albums from last year. Lush arrangements with a dark hue that engulf you in your own neo-noir film. Artwork by Michael Willis

#JustWatched To Live and Die in L.A. - William Friedkin This film encapsulates everything I adore about 80’s movies. A raw and frantic thriller that pairs Friedkin with the masterful compositions of Robby Müller. Not to mention a totally infectious score from Wang Chung.

#JustWatched Enys Men - Mark Jenkin A folk horror fever dream with a festering 16mm aesthetic. I can’t wait to see what feature Jenkin’s follows this, and the equally insidious Bait, with next.

#SaveThePCC Some of you may have read about the situation regarding our new landlord wishing to add a new redevelopment break clause, with only 6 months notice to our lease. For now, we're simply asking you all to share & sign the petition below; you.38degrees.org.uk/p/princechar...

#JustWatched Perfect Days - Wim Wenders “Next time is next time. now is now.” There is often an underlying sadness in Wim Wenders work but it’s the appreciation for the simple everyday here that has really stuck with me. Spotless.

#NowReading Edge - Issue 406 Always a treat picking up the latest issue and a joy seeing what new categories the Alternative Edge Awards section invents each January.

#NowPlaying Adventures in the Otherworld - 11:11 Twice in a row for this journey across trippy beats and astral arrangements, guided by spoken words from Lucky I’m Luke.

#JustWatched Bird - Andrea Arnold A fantastical fable set in the southeast of England with magical and moving performances from its cast and slimy toad 🐸.

#NowPlaying The Way Out of Easy - Jeff Parker ETA IVtet Last pick up of the year and WOW was it worth the wait. 80 minutes of mesmerising improvisation to get lost in. The dub groove towards the end of ‘Chrome Dome’ is dynamite.

#NowPlaying The Gate - J. Peter Robinson & Michael Hoenig Revisited one of my most beloved VHS tapes growing up and was taken aback by how ridiculously good the score is!

#NowPlaying In My Hour Of Weakness, I Found A Sweetness - Romance A record inspired by Celine Dion that conjures lush dreamscapes imbued with lo-fi vocals to lose yourself in on a Sunday morning.

#NowPlaying Acts of Faith - Sault Late night headphones listen. Just found out this recording from their live show last year has become available again, both digitally and physically, as of today!

#NowPlaying Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake - Yuji Horii Christmas Day, when everyone else is sleeping off food, is for RPGs and I’ve been saving this one specially. The score, composed by Koichi Sugiyama, is still as enchanting as it has ever been.

👻🎄 #NowReading Spirits of the Season: Christmas Hauntings - British Library Tales of the Weird #NowPlaying New Christmas Rituals - Laura Cannell & Andre Bosman A perfect coupling for some Christmas Eve chills.

#NowPlaying A Christmas Record - Ze Records Now that the sun has set, it’s time to get snug with some dark disco and despondency wrapped as a Christmas compilation.

#JustWatched Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point - Tyler Taormina Showcases the smaller and sincere stories amongst family and friends coming together for the holidays, both heartwarming, and humorous, with a helter-skelter tone. Utilising a nostalgic film stock feel to nifty effect.

#JustWatched Dark Angel - Craig R. Baxley Dolph Lundgren kicks his way to solving a murder case involving drug dealing aliens at Christmas. As ridiculously entertaining as it sounds.

#NowWatching Happiest Season - Clea DuVall Keeping the festive movie season going with one of my highlights from recents years.

Happy 30th anniversary to PlayStation! 🥳 Share four games that defined your PS1 experience …

#NowPlaying In Every Dream Home a Heartache - Romance & Dean Hurley The first of two collaborations. Listening is like falling in and out of a Lynchian fever dream while a daytime soap opera plays in the background. Ideal for a rainy Saturday morning. Artwork by Alesso Natalizia

#PlayStation30th The surprise of seeing the classic PlayStation One boot sequence was pure joy. Took me back to the bundle I received as a Birthday gift and first starting up Alien Trilogy ❤️

#JustWatched The Holdovers - Alexander Payne The perfect way to kick-off the festive film season now that December has arrived. A poignant story that doesn’t forget to add a sprinkle of hope, and humour, amongst the messiness of life.

#JustWatched Safe - Todd Haynes There is so much to admire in this film: Haynes’ neutral approach to the themes, a moving performance from Julianne Moore, and interior shots so captivating that they felt surreal. Every frame was meticulously crafted.

#NowPlaying The Warriors - Various Waxwork Records always come out swinging (sorry). Pump it up loud. Artwork by Dave Rapoza

#JustWatched Miracle Mile - Steve De Jarnatt A unique take on the paranoia of an impending nuclear war, juxtaposed with dreamlike visuals and the romanticism of chance encounters. Accompanied by an atmospheric Tangerine Dream score.

#JustWatched Strange Darling - JT Mollner Whoa. Powerful performances from Willa Fitzgerald, Kyle Gallner and a breakfast dessert from Ed Begley Jr. that has me questioning my future culinary choices. Plus, outstanding cinematography from Giovanni Ribisi!

#NowPlaying Donkey Kong Country - David Wise I know praising David Wise is like praising ice cream, however, I still get transported every single time I listen to his work. Aquatic Ambiance is awe inspiring.

#NowWatching Sweet Smell of Success - Alexander Mackendrick “Here’s mud in your column!”

Endlessness - Nala Sinephro Continually going back to this beautiful follow-up to Space 1.8 from earlier in the year. Artwork by Daniela Yohannes and Maziyar Pahlevan.

Since its random announcement, Nintendo Music has been a wonderful way to rediscover some absolute masterpieces in video game music, with fun in-game screenshots for each individual track. But please, Nintendo, show credits for the composers!

Vėjula - Merope Beautiful vibes for a Sunday night, paired with playful artwork from Avinash Veeraraghavan.
