It’s not illegal for a United States Senator to go to a public press conference and ask questions about your constituents safety. It's our job.

If this is how this administration responds to a Senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farmworkers, to cooks, and to day laborers throughout California and across the country. We will hold this administration accountable.

Really hoping that @smith.senate.gov and @amyklobuchar.com have some things to say to this colleague. In public and on the floor of the Senate.

The Tea Party protests in April 2009 had about a third of a million people involved, and the political media treated it like a game changer for the Obama presidency. The No Kings rallies were AT LEAST ten times bigger than the Tea Party protests. Will the press keep pretending Trump is popular?

Pretty messed up how they tell you to peacefully protest and that's just fine, but then they box you in and arrest you when you can't leave on time

LA is strong. This is what a peaceful protest looks like. We refuse the chaos.

I did not edit this, this is the actual parade with the actual music being played. CINEMATIC

I need everyone on Normal People internet to know that American Girl Doll Instagram is doing doll protests today. There are tiny t-shirts and signs. AND THEN I realized it's a joint protest with the Barbie ppl, where there are EVEN TINIER SIGNS.

Anyone who has ever lived in LA county will not be surprised it was the sheriff's department that escalated

On the Ben Franklin Parkway, they keep coming and coming

Los Angeles. Just wow.

Kash Patel and Pam Bondi are real quiet when a Dem Gov’s mansion is burned and two MN lawmakers are targeted for assassination. It’s almost as if they only care about one side being targeted for violence….

Woodland, CA

Two important things to note: 1) the most significant violence we’ve seen this year was not against ICE or Trump or members of his administration, but against Democrats 2) when ICE scoffs at people asking for warrants or for identification, THIS IS WHY THEY ASK www.fox9.com/news/melissa...

Quick reminder to the armchair analysists out there speculating over little #mnlege floor charts: Knock it off, you absolute goblins. The legislative year just ended. A seat is the least important thing Minnesota lost to a bullet today.

Can report a strong turnout at our local No Kings rally. Lots of American flag waving and supportive horn honking. Many homemade signs, some indignant, some witty. One that seemed particularly McLean appropriate: “If only Kamala had won, we’d all be at brunch.”

Protest at the Minnesota state capitol is still on.

The news isn’t being clear about this but to people hearing about these Minnesota shootings: Melissa Hortman is the Dem leader in the Minnesota House and was Speaker of the House 2019-2025. She’s probably the most influential state-level Democrat barring the governor.

law enforcement officials say they made a proactive check at Rep. Hortman's home after a lawmaker who lived nearby was shot and found a "police vehicle in the driveway with emergency lights and what appeared to be a police officer at the door coming out of the house." He was actually the gunman.

Shocking findings coming in press conference. Chief reports suspect impersonated officer, wearing a vest & badge, had vehicle impersonating a police car. Reports suspect had in his car a "manifesto" with list of intended victims. Suspect at large after assassinating State Rep Hortman, her husband.

WTF is happening in my home state?

He's since deleted the sheet because of nut job responses. But, yea. Still, "no kings" rolls off the tongue.

@padilla.senate.gov: "We’re a co-equal branch of government, our job is oversight and accountability... If there's an opportunity for me to ask a question in-person at a press conference in my home state, that's me doing my job."

Brilliant.

Especially if you're on the fence about it, protest today. Fascism is isolating and lonely. Its very goal is to make you feel like you're the only person unwilling to accept a cult of personality. On days like today you fully realize there are more of us than there are them. You will feel better.

It's what many people have been saying since they started doing their raids masked and without IDs: if your cops are anonymous, then they are functionally indistinguishable from impersonators. How do we (anyone?) *know* that this person wasn't, in fact, a cop? We don't.

DOGE affiliates Kenneth Jackson and Nate Cavanaugh “disabled and restricted access to the Institute's FOIA system, terminated the employees responsible for processing FOIA requests, and restricted the use of Institute financial resources.”

USAGM today urgently called back to work the staff of the Voice of America's Farsi language service. All had been on paid admin leave for the past three months with the rest of VOA's silenced journalists.

Senator Murphy: I don't ask law enforcement to throw my constituents to the ground and violently handcuff them because they have a different opinion from me. We don't do that in a democracy. If this is how a Senator can be treated, none of our constituents are safe. This is a test for the country

""It's really hard to fathom that the guy making my pizza for 25 years is a gangster and a terrorist, and the person who shows up in an unmarked car wearing a mask and body armor comes to take him away is somehow the good guy," said Simon..." www.wnep.com/article/news...

TFW Corey Lewandowski is the voice of political reason.

Fell behind on Andor, so am catching up. Watched Episode 9 this evening. You know. The wild one where they arrest a Senator after manufacturing a fake crisis that required the military to put down protestors. So unrealistic.

This is a watershed moment. Senator Padilla getting thrown to the ground and handcuffed. Trump admitting his mass deportations are targeting hard-working people that are contributing vitally to the US economy. Trump sending troops into a US city that even local law enforcement didn't ask for. 1/

Newsom: “The courts have ruled. The Guard will be back under my command — and Donald Trump will be relieved of his command at noon tomorrow.”

RFK Jr’s ACIP pick, Martin Kulldorff, said one of the most disturbing images from the pandemic was a toddler crying about having to wear a mask. I see toddlers cry about everything all the time, and I found it far more disturbing to see refrigerator trucks full of body bags outside of the hospitals…
