I think the fact a lot of people went out, were directly exposed to How Many People Care About This and are going to leave to a media landscape that barely acknowledges it happened at all might lift some blinders, too, for some people.

But a big protest like this is primarily a show of strength and opposition. It exists to be a symbol. That's often more than enough. As I said earlier, the mere image of the contrast between Trump's limp parade and these No Kings protests is propaganda you couldn't buy for a million bucks.

I reiterate my point from four months ago: a more plausible place to start the conjuring of a well organized general strike is by working to unionize as many workplaces and sectors of the economy as we can. This is not a step we should skip.
