WE HAVE QUESTIONS… This is a kidnapping. No uniform, no badge, civilian car. Who are they? ICE? Sanctioned bounty hunters? Either way, they’re grabbing people without warrants. How often is this happening, and why aren’t more people talking about it? Congress?

Ironically, and off the top of my head, she is immediately ‘cancelling’ Ophelia, Desdemona, Portia, Othello & Shylock. Also, why does she think so many female characters dressed up as men to enjoy agency or, while we’re here, they were *all* literally played by actual males for years?

Featuring the obligatory suit of armour.

Evening.

Left: Peston criticises Starmer for taking a military helicopter for official duties Right: One of the many times Sunak as PM took helicopter flights from donors to the Conservative party. In this case paid for by The Phoenix Partnership, owned by Frank Hester which won £135m of contracts from NHS

As Labour's Yvette Cooper announces an investigation into historic child sexual abuse Never forget that time Boris Johnson dismissed the need for such investigations, saying it was a waste of money, then lied about it

Lee Anderson criticises Labour for not acting on historic child sexual abuse Yvette Cooper points out that Lee Anderson was part of the government that chose not to act on historic child sexual abuse

Russia was kicked out of the G7 in 2014 after Russia had attacked Ukraine initially, and a year before Trudeau was Canada's Prime Minister

Again this is a lie/dementia - Trudeau was not Prime Minister of Canada until the following year

Bertrand Russell, in 1948. Extraordinary to realise how pessimistic people were during an era we now associate with optimism. And reassuring to realise that things sometimes turn out OK, even when everyone thinks we're fucked.

Our gift to the world.

Remember, Jimmy Carter put his family-owned peanut farm in a blind trust, before being sworn in, to avoid any suggestion of conflict of interest. Fifty years later, it's hard to tell apart The White House from The Shopping Channel. ~AA

Lying bastards in that paper honestly. Of course the damage is done.

Wilfred Frost to Philp: Labour took 6 months to launch the grooming gangs inquiry. You must admit the Tories are guilty too - they had 14 years and did nothing. Philp: No. Classic Tory sewage. #ukpolitics

Today marks nine years since Jo Cox was assassinated by a far-right extremist, a terrible loss to those who knew and loved her and to politics. Zero lessons were learned though and the far-right continues to be pandered to. With more political assassinations in the US it all feels too familiar.

Disability benefit cuts will harm hundreds of thousands, MPs warn: 'A disaster on every front' 'it's very clear that if this goes ahead, the wider cost to society will be bigger than any money they save' www.bigissue.com/news/social-...

🚨🚨"What’s missing is the political courage to articulate a compelling alternative to far-right messaging – one that makes an affirmative case for EU-wide action on the issues that matter most to Europeans: common security, managed migration & shared prosperity." @alemanno.bsky.social

Remarkable that it’s often foreign press who report honestly on the damage Brexit inflicted on ourselves. British farming sacrificed. Shellfish exports crushed. Small food exporters priced out. Costs up, red tape up, markets lost. Food security destroyed. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/16/b...

Britain's most comically illiterate headmistress strikes again. I mean... How could one find opportunities to discuss racism, in the context of Othello and The Merchant of Venice, or sexism, while teaching The Taming of The Shrew and Twelfth Night?

If only we were half as tough on lazy, tax dodging billionaires as we are on Disabled People.

The MSM sinks lower by the minute Pathetic Farage worshipping white male supremacist @itvpeston.bsky.social didn’t once criticise a Tory PM for regularly using helicopters/private jets funded by UK taxpayers Including 50 mile trips by Sunak Let alone one provided by a NATO ally during a G7 summit

Do you see a mandate or landslide?

Hard to reconcile that this was less than six months ago. It has felt like a decade.

Lots of people sharing this... but as with so many stories in the tabloid press... when you actually read it you discover that all is not as presented in the header. Perhaps "travel influencer quits UK because the schools won't let her take kids on holiday during term time" wasn't sexy enough

Long thread but my admiration for @sundersays.bsky.social only grows. Please take a moment to read and share

"Recent Eurobarometer data confirm the shift: 74% of Europeans now view EU membership as a positive thing – the highest level of support ever recorded." - www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Remembering Jo Cox. An inspiration. RIP.

Casey Report: Many girls were abused for years because authorities DIDN'T TAKE reports of grooming gangs ABUSE SERIOUSLY. Reform voters: That's why we're backing a party that DENIES the ABUSE committed by their MP who was convicted of beating his girlfriend. #GroomingGangInquiry

Reform UK's Foysal Choudhury, Councillor for Mansfield South on Nottinghamshire County Council has not declared his two businesses in his Register of Interest. find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/uYX... www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/dms/Councill...

So the millionaire exodus was a complete work of fiction.... built on dodgy data from a company flogging golden passports to billionaires. Henley & Partners spun a PR stunt and the media ran with it. 10,000 headlines later, the truth emerges: less than 0.3% of UK millionaires left. buff.ly/W0MDULn

I see a lot of Conservative right wing Brexiters pointing out a number of factors behind British economic decline. Quite amazingly they omit the biggest factor, and the one they were responsible for. Brexit @anthonybarnett.bsky.social

Instead of imaginary friends, Badenoch has imaginary voters: “The Pro-energy-Co-bosses voter The ‘Reform aren’t right wing enough’ voter The pro-Brexit, anti-post-Brexit trade deal voter” These people don’t exist. Tories no longer have an audience or a point www.adambienkov.co.uk/p/kemi-baden...

At a time when we desperately need to bring down the temperature, the president of the United States is deliberately turning up the heat. His thirst for chaos and division is dangerous and deeply un-American.

In Gaza, hope turns to horror as aid points become death traps. Israeli forces gun down starving Palestinians, like Ahmad's mother, at US-backed sites. Hunger weaponized, dignity shattered—over 140 killed in days. A cruel cage for the desperate. #3E

Why does it matter that Lord Glasman had his portrait painted with the extremist Peter Thiel Protégée Curtis Yarvin? Because Glasman has claimed that the Prime Minister’s chief of staff Morgan McSweeney is a Blue Labour ally subscribe.bylinetimes.com/edition/73/b...

Latest from @chrisgrey.bsky.social finishes with a superb idea: if you can have a defence review, why not a Brexit review? While reviewing the process and obvious faults is important, the review of the actual choice and the benefits would be interesting, as would a report on moving forward A 🧵

You’ll notice that the American state media are no longer concerned about age seeing as the orange felon is now nearly 80 years old and all they’ve been doing is normalizing his birthday dictator march. They have completely failed all of us as well as our democracy.

Far Right Republican. White. Middle aged. Male. Not an immigrant. Shocking.

Don't let the Tories and the Reform Party Ltd claim credit for the announcement of an inquiry into grooming gangs. It's the recommendation by Louise Casey who carried out a review at the behest of Yvette Cooper. It's nothing to do with the Tories or Reform.

Walz: "This cannot be the norm. It cannot be the way that we deal with our political differences. Now is the time for us to recommit to the core values of this country ... Talk to a neighbor rather than arguing. Debate an issue. Shake hands. Find common ground. This is who Melissa Hortman was."

The roommate of Minnesota shooter Vance Boelter, responding to MAGA lies that he’s a Democrat: “He would be offended if people called him a Democrat,” he told CBS News, adding that Boelter “was a Trump supporter, voted for Trump,” and was happy Trump won the 2024 election.

We should have absolutely nothing to do with this fucking madness news.sky.com/story/uk-mil...

Compare and contrast scenes from yesterday in America. On the one hand, Trump's low-energy Dear Leader parade (that cost you $45 million). On the other, millions of people across the country gathering peacefully to say: Here, we have no kings.

We, the people, have spoken!

How Badenoch’s particular form of ‘right wing unpopulism’ somehow manages to combine the least popular parts of Farage’s offer, with the most unsympathetic parts of US Republicanism, in order to present something that appeals to almost nobody in the UK.

“Anti-establishment” MPs who forget to declare the help they get from Bannon’s PR firm? A deep dive into Farage, MAGA & imported fascism. ko-fi.com/post/Reform-...

Whoa! Hats off to ABC News reporter Matt Gutman for keeping his cool yesterday. This LAPD officer needs to be relieved of duty if he can’t handle an alleged “touch” without snapping.
