It's still okay to do the right thing. We gotta hope the individual soldiers don't want to be assholes.

Snowshoe to the bus stop instead of riding!

Pollution prevention is the holy grail of the environmental movement! It's okay to have a small carbon footprint. First do no harm. Burning fossil fuels is adding harm agents to the atmosphere. Do the right thing and you'll be okay.

That happened to me in Spring 95 in Sacramento. Want to say it was earth day. Thinking it was my first critical mass.

Obviously the pigs think they are equaler than us.

It's okay to have a small carbon footprint. What's going on at the top of the economic pyramid? That's not okay! Always looking for ways to not support that constructively.

No heated toilet seats here. Not wasting my money on that!

There was an A&W at the end of my street when I moved into this place. It had been there for years. Went on a ten year road trip. When I got back it was still there, but you could see it was fading. It's been gone so long many people don't remember it. Hats off to Canada for keeping theirs going!

So bummed that is happening. I don't support using coal. Leave it in the hole where it's still sequestered carbon!

Remembering that time Terry Gross interviewed Steve Martin and he talked at length about the amazing comedic power of nothing.

Even if he isn't real his Presidency is over. That means beyond a lame duck. We're talking private citizen with govt. perks.

When my ex was near the end we put out the call for everybody to send her one last card. Then for a couple of weeks I took them with me when visiting and read them to her. It helped a lot. She enjoyed them.

I hope you're asking yourself that question.

Gasoline has risen in price to about $5/gal. around here. At least the addicts are paying more for the sauce. You gotta add some tax to the using of that terminal. Hopefully that will make the stuff too expensive to waste.

This part sounds new to me: "In the new South Africa the scales of justice do not tip based on skin color." If only it was true here!

i'd suggest spending $147.64 on pretty dresses and salt the rest away in the rainy day fund.

When I had a car I had a gas budget. When I went car free I decided to spend half that much on cycling stuff. Padded shorts and shirts with three pockets in the back at first. That worked until I started running out of space in the closet. Now I just pour that money into improving life locally.

There was a time when I thought I was the only Tian, but then I met more people. Now it's an interesting discussion when I meet one.

Good luck! That's how I felt in 1992. For sure it helped make things better, even though I never won a seat to sit down in.

I like to say "Big oil spends so much to buy the incumbents ears that I can't outbid them. Instead I ask everyone I can to stop voting for oil companies at the gas pump." Gotta get a whole idea out before they get confused and think you're talking about today's headline or incumbent.

Good catch! I missed that the first time.

Think of buying books at the library sale as donating to the library. Getting a good read out of it is worth the risk.
comment in response to post
Poor people are the ones pulling books out of the waste stream. Either that or picking them up after that.
