Do you get Déjà vu?

Community notes are a good feature. They get used for more minor corrections or give contrasting opinions on subjective things presented as facts. So it's hard to make a one size fits all system. But you're totally right the disincentive to get them for bad, and repeated bad actors isn't there.

The negative incentive should be there too. Getting noted, or noted too often should get you temporarily banned, repeated offenses permanently. They could also limit the reach of or require moderator approval for future posts by users who get hit with community notes.

The design of the community note is bad too. The note should be a header on the post and the original content should go behind some kind of spoiler or acknowledgement that it is partially or completely misleading. In its current state people just absorb the post as normal and skip past the note.

Or if you're on Reddit try the Cardinals subreddit to see if anyone would be willing to part with one if you're willing to pay for it and shipping. There are usually some pretty accommodating people on those team specific subreddits.

Not sure how much you want one but they give away thousands of these, sometimes tens of thousands with theme tickets. Some of them always make their way to eBay the following day and usually aren't super expensive. So you could try that.

The cost of games has gotten so decoupled from the quality of games. The studios and production costs have gotten substantially higher. Yet the management and quality of AAA titles on average feels way worse, especially at launch.

Josh Hawley tends to talk a big populous game at times only to not vote like it. He falls in-line with MAGA Republicans when the rubber meets the road. So don't expect him to fight super hard or ever take a tough vote on this.

It's a bad click bait title. It's certainly an out of character move for anyone in the Republican party right now. It has an independent/Democrat caucusing co-sponsor. It's a real bill.

Well I have bad news for you... Shows off the air until September.

Hmmm I wonder if he'll feel differently once someone backs up the Brink's Truck. Realistically feels like he cuts a deal to play one side of the ball the overwhelming majority of the time, and then gets limited snaps on the other side in special packages or part of special teams.

It's a product that basically does nothing and is made for nobody. I'm sure it keeps some product managers employed though.

The restaurant reservation one is beyond dumb... Any well run restaurant is going to have juggling reservations and walk-ins down pat, and already rely on something like Resy. Any poorly run or tech illiterate restaurant isn't going to shell out for some fancy AI they don't know how to use.

People need to realize it's whatever is the best tool for the job and competition is good. I'm glad Linux, especially Linux gaming is gaining ground through support from companies like Valve. Conversely if people want to stay on Windows that's fine, go for it. No need to be so territorial.

Having used Windows, various Linux distros, and MacOS over the years for both work and personal reasons there is a lot to love and hate about each one. For every "why doesn't everybody do it this way" in each there is "wow that is really dumb." People should use what's best for them.

It may have national reach but it's still the "Washington" Post. They are allowed to proudly promote and back things they enjoy in their community. No one gets mad if NYT gives more coverage to the Yankees or Mets as opposed to the Padres.

Yeah this feels super modern even for now. Let alone what was coming out in 2003. I dig it though. Thanks for sharing.
