Niche baseball take: I fucking hate the ghost runner rule. If Rob Manfred has no more haters, then I am dead.

Disgusted by the details of the Jonathan Joss (John Redcorn) murder. Awful. Just awful.

what it’s like to live in florida

I'm so happy I could cry. An all-time great album finally reissued on vinyl. It may not be for everyone, but it's definitely for me and it holds a very nostalgic place in my heart. Listened to this like crazy in the summer between high school and college. Had it on CD but long out of print on vinyl.

I love seeing all the posts about where you all used to work and what jobs you all used to have. Trust me, I do. But I'm kinda concerned who else might see those posts, and what kinda info they can glean about you all, and whether those people might be able to identify you from it. Food for thought.

Brb. Gonna run to the toilet to pee out of my bemis.

Boy howdy those Coens sure can direct a picture.

It's been a while since I've watched Inside Llewyn Davis. Think I'll throw in the Criterion disc now.

It always feels so dang good going through the "following" list and unfollowing all the accounts that either never followed back or unfollowed. Feels like cleaning out the pantry. Or taking out the trash.

Pot Of Macaroni for the Top 500 next year. Do it for Paul!

Starting a campaign to get Peanut Butter Recall in next year’s WDVE Memorial Day 500 countdown.

“Born To Run” by Bruce Springsteen coming in at number 16 on this year’s WDVE Memorial Day 500 countdown! Up 77 places from number 93 last year! The highest that the song has been since number 5 back in 1988! @dverocks Here’s my own video I made for it back in 1985: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhfD...

@weirdpaul.bsky.social definitely expected Smells Like Teen Spirit to be higher.

Good morning, WDVE Memorial Day 500 countdown listeners! We just had our highest debut on this year's countdown, "Sweet Jane" by Lou Reed coming in at number 96. It's going to be very interesting to see what the highest debut of all ends up being. Be sure to listen along on iheartradio!

@weirdpaul.bsky.social bizarre that Lou Read's live version of his Velvet Underground's "Sweet Jane" comes in at 96.

every college degree has only two pathways for careers for example, if you get a degree in psychology, you can 1) help poor and underprivileged people: $30,000/year 2) research new ways to make people gamble even more: $700,000/year

Found this very interesting old book from 1969, a reprint of a book from 1891, with a sadly still-relevant editors' note on the book flaps where they conclude that America, by nature, is a violent country. Yep. (Full text in Alt Text of the flap pictures below)
