Oh Caroleeena, no. No. No.

Thank you, Shawn! We brought them to our vet and she is going to try and get them both into a rescue. She says they are about to have some open space after a big adoption and since there are only two of them, there is a decent chance they will be accepted! Currently, they are getting a health check.

I have almost 8000 followers on BS and no one talks to me, but 1 or 2 friends. I made a new account on Twitter about 3 weeks ago. I have about 25 followers and much more engagement. That says a lot about who is following me on BS and why. I am invisible here and it's very lonely.

Thank you, I will follow all these kind and loving folks.

I was speaking with my daughter, letting her know where I was emotionally today and she said, "When I feel like that, I think about all the things we HAVE done. Feeding, worming, vet care, sheltering and providing love to so many. Bringing them back from the brink of starvation." She's right.

Thank you so much, Noel. That is really kind.

Thank you! I am going to research these! Any help would be amazing. I went to our mayor and she has been trying for years to get feral assistance grants.

It's even sadder now since there are so many kittens and their survival rate is poor at best. I want to save them all and knowing that it's impossible is extremely difficult for me to accept. I'm a fixer and I see it as failure when I can't fix everyone. Sorry, it's been a day for me. Thank you ❀️

Thank you. That means a lot. It's really hard and it's heartbreaking and sometimes I just don't know how to keep going. It's rural here, so there is no city or county help we can apply for or receive. And larger cities like OKC only assist with TNR via their own city limits with proof of residency.

THANK YOU so much, Shawn! Honestly, I can't tell you how grateful I am for this. Thank you very, very much for helping us help these poor, sweet cats and their kittens. This is incredibly kind and generous of you.

So far, so good. We had a weekend of intense fear with that expected derecho, but were saved by an afternoon thunderstorm that carved out a safe place for us. See the red spot in the center? That's us! We were at ground zero, but it missed us. Still trying to mentally/emotionally recover.

I read them every day and wish I could respond, but I'm in a very dark place, struggling to find joy. I hope that my mind will begin to lighten enough that It can look for, recognize and begin to experience the gift of joy again.

He certainly is. I adore him. I hope his surgeries can hopefully extend his quality of life.

That's awesome! Great job! I bought myself a Fire for my birthday in January and have read 19 books so far this year! Mostly rock and roll autobiographies, but hey, reading is reading, right? I'm making up for the past few years in which I read nothing. How was the book? Did you enjoy it?

LOL, when I worked for Tower In the late 80's, I was their handler for the event and they asked for someone else because I was 'too sexy.' True story πŸ˜‚

Losing him has brought a new influx of outliers he had been keeping at a distance. We're busy deworming them and seeing if anyone can be trapped. Who knew a year ago when we moved here, this would be our new normal.

No, and it's a lot. Often it's emotionally overwhelming to the point I don't think I can go on because it's just too heartbreaking and financially, it's really hard. We just lost our colony patriarch. We were finally able to trap him due to an injury, were going to fix him all up, but he had cancer.

The murderer has been arrested and is being held. But it's Texas, so.. I hate to say it could go either way dependent on the local law enforcement and judicial system.
