I don’t think he sees himself as ever losing - I think it’s more about losing traction in the news flow - which simply means he is not totally dominating headlines. So maybe next week he’ll try to make up for it and do some crazy stuff to recapture the spotlight.

Please be careful about what he actually said. He said those jobs would come to America *and be automated*. And that supporting those production lines (eg HVAC) would generate US jobs. The stupidity was (1) these jobs are ALREADY automated and (2) there are not that many support jobs.

This actually the problem, isn’t it? If you’re another country or a US company, the only decision you can make now is: do not put your money on America. Not reliable, chaotic, not certain the rule of law applies, anti-human rights. Go elsewhere, have as little to do with the USA as possible. So sad.
