I'm excited to get this year's @chsresearch.bsky.social Centre for Health and Society Mini Conference up and running. Always a fantastic day spent listening to colleagues' research and sharing experiences.

The LGBTQIA+ community has understandably mixed feelings about corporate involvement in pride, but the question remains: if this administration has pressured corporations to pull funding, how will pride parades pivot to survive? @politicsnewamerica.bsky.social open.spotify.com/episode/48g7...

Sense, finally! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I just weep for US science when I go to pages I've used in the past and see this. It used to have information on climate related morbidity and mortality...

Your regular reminder that #inequality hurts our most vulnerable. An unequal society is an unhealthy society. www.theguardian.com/inequality/2...

Oh to be the German Chancellor in the Oval Office right now...

Huge shout out to our local hospital, who were amazing the last 24+ hours caring for our youngest after she had a fall. She's home and fine, but they pulled out all the stops and made us feel safe and cared for. Given how tough it is in the #NHS right now, that meant a lot.

Just found out the book title I wanted was used in a book published last year, so I can't use it. I could use a little #writing pick me up. Tell me about a time when this happened to you and you ended up with a better title. (She says hopefully...) #writer #WritingSky

Ah, Britain in June. Standing on a windy train platform, being pelted by rain as I wait for my 42 minute delayed train in 12 degrees.

Can you write "we're fucked" in a chapter on Climate Change and health? Asking for a friend...

Really feeling this little gem from Nathan Pyle the last few weeks. Just sleep my darling gremlins, Mummy is so very tired.

#SpawnofPaton2 has been Houdini-ing their way out of the car seat, so we bought a special clip that is apparently unopenable. They watched us do it twice and then simply unclipped it and got out.

This new horizon of personalised medicine is very exciting! Of course, only if it has well-thought out regulations around consent and what is done with the bank of biodata it will generate. (You know there's always a 'but' with me!) www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Well this is problematic: I cannot locate the magnet that opens all our childproof cupboard locks. I suspect the magnet is in one of said cupboards. At least the cold meds are not. Tomorrow will be interesting...

This is 100% the feel-good news story I needed today. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Excellent point here.

I thought my bowl was safe. It wasn't. He got stuck up there. When he tried to back up, he farted. Oh the #FrenchieSky life.

This #BankHoliday Monday brought to you by whatever plague the kids brought home from school.

Trump being shocked to find out Putin is a wrong'un has all the hallmarks of this little gem:

Enjoying a rest day. #Frenchie #FrenchieSky #BankHoliday #FrenchBulldog

Resting after a long day of resting. It's a nice #FrenchieSky life. #FrenchBulldog #Dog

He's fooling no one. I know that's not a real laptop. It's getting awkward with this research assistant now. I asked for a lit review of health policy and he played "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" instead. #FrenchieSky #Writing #AcademicSky

In my latest for @independentvoices.bsky.social I talk about the government's plans for chemical castration in prisons and why it's a (sorry I'm not sorry) limp dick of a policy. www.independent.co.uk/voices/alexi...

Excellent piece from @dralexispaton.bsky.social on both the moral and ethical problems with chemical castration (not to mention the fact that approaches like this fail to understand the underlying causes of GBV!!!).

"Without addressing the root cause of sexual violence, it is very likely that the violence will continue, only the nature of it will change." This is brilliant on sticking plaster misogyny "fixes" by @dralexispaton.bsky.social for @independentvoices.bsky.social www.independent.co.uk/voices/alexi...

Chemical castration will not fix the root issue of why so many men loathe women | @dralexispaton.bsky.social www.independent.co.uk/voices/alexi...
