Maaann, I've long wished that out of the many possibilitids they missed out on in Zandalar there could've been an artist/sculptor NPC who's a Gonk faithful after all, he is Master of Shapes This is p much it!!!

uhhhh I've always liked the golden dinnerplate + hood combo, and the eyeveil is just the price of admission even if it does look cool But to quickly headcanon, he dons it while employing some spell/enchantment of higher senses or when attuning to imperceptible magical sensations or w/e

But actually consider how they've a veritable goldmind of complex cultural dynamics and a generational-conflict here in Quel'thalas/Zul'aman - one that can't feasibly be solved/put on hold by anything but the threat of mutual annihilation

Inb4 the justification of unrepetant tribal evil is "well, they're cannibals and do humanoid sacrifices" when/Blizzard wrote it that way, and can write it out/ - and by that I don't mean whitewash everything edgy & fantastical, that's why we like our Warcraft monsterpeoples after all

Here's a sublime musical analysis of it! (I'm a music theory rube and hadn't been shown music as language of questions, answers and statements before) youtu.be/CYE2DOybFV0?...

The way they treat it like we're stumbling into a lost civilization when it's not gone!!! They still out here, and by all rights shouldve had way more interactions in the world during that absurd 10,000 year post-sundering timeskip

You wouldn't of in the cold food of out hot eat the food we are reaching never before seen results of huge

well Stormsong's just plain unfinished - at least when Zandalar's narrative structure clearly haf a hacksaw taken to it to justify being able to play the zones in any order, all the story is there and all the zones are utilized fully

Imagine the riots in silvermoon you could see if that happened Riots in Zulโ€™aman The insane tension between the Amani leader and Lorthermar while both struggle to get past their history What the alliance elves think about it People on both sides pulling a Marian to sabotage it IMAGINE
comment in response to post
Yet that doesn't change how it was a crucial texture of the setting, part of the appeal - though shoddily presented and handled in the few instances it was the main stage of the narrative, for the SETTING its absence leaves WoW feeling like not itself

massive shout out to this specific wowhead comment lol

Like, why would I go to Warcraft for human and elf stories when I can get that in 50 other IPs? What other world am I gonna go to if I wanna see an Orc as a hero? Or a minotaur? Or a troll? That kinda shit is what makes Warcraft unique and Blizzard really is just like "Nah let's be generic"
comment in response to post
Cynically, it's chasing trends, namely D&D and respectively, Baldur's Gate 3 - The aesthetic of the playable races therein a million degrees less varied in its humanoids than Warcraft.

BFA had some doooogwater NPC-mogs for some reason (the Horde Soldiers in War of Thorns/Battle for Lordaeron holding tiny little generic short-swords instead of axes etc)
comment in response to post
Rokhan's going "naahhhhhhh get fucked lmaoo" when he realises who Zul is

Ny'alotha should've been an actual sunken city - ab endgame zone on a Nazjatar continent with many zones, Ruins of Zin-Azshari one of them
comment in response to post
BFA should've been a faction war, with Nazjatar rising from the deeps & wiping out the Horde/ Alliance fleets as the climax setting up the Naga/N'zoth expack

Earnest, honest-to-god joy and appreciation for the world and life & not at anyone else's expense, or shadowed by previous misdeeds unto others? Maybe in childhood - sparse moments of vulnerability nowadays aren't exactly jovial

A necessary/begrudging alliance. The Darkspear he acknowledged as valorous (and trendy), the rest as a volatile conglomerate that'll consume itself in a century or two. Shal/Quel'dorei having open borders is anhistorically unique bout of lunacy, which allows crucial espionage to take place
comment in response to post
goblins as a whole their volatility is glaring, economical ties are chaining yourself to a bomb. Long-term, the disgrace of Kezan 100 years ago must be atoned, avenged, or renounced - decisively so trollkind can be put back on track Short-term, a political blunder by the Paku'ai? ๐Ÿ˜ˆ Scheme

Why's his hair like that

How'd he get merked, and then raised?

I guess it harkens back to Lei Shen differentiating between lightning and thunder - Storm is the downpour that washes away, Lightning the "tongue" that speaks of the hope inherent seeing telltales of rainfall in the desert
comment in response to post
It's weird since Akunda's affinity to Storm is in close proximity in Vol'dun
comment in response to post
Nazmir was the very first Horde BFA zone to be tested on alpha, If I recall?

I feel like they're a good reminder on being conscious of brevity hitting hard sometimes, especially since I am a sucker who definitely enjoys writing prose to a fault

I experimented with having hooks on espi but on retail i just link an introductory short-story - If they're really keen on finding out about my, I'd prefer they see something i cared writing about rather than what'd amount to a Linkedin profile

i don't want to edit an essay i just want to RP (don't cheat with AI tho)
comment in response to post
writing glances is ez just narrow a key aspect of the character's demeanour or looks Abouts are ass cuz it's an essay about the entire character that you have to plan and edit because otherwise it will look like a piece of shit block of text - the same type people dunk on glances for
