Didn’t John Stewart and Steven Colbert have a bit where the nicest thing they could say about him was that he probably wasn’t a cannibal? Or was that Trevor Noah? This reminds me of that.

Feel sorry for the poor staffer who has to explain that they’re tied to temperature and that’s why global warming is making them worse.

If you possessed a tiny human, you would know who she is. Going after her politically is not too dissimilar to going after Mr. Rogers would have been for the previous generation.

Wow, are we doing Secret Lists of the Others already? Time flies in a flat circle.

To borrow from Bujold, the objective is not to form a strategy that yields a path to victory. The objective us to form a strategy such that all paths lead to victory.

That’s abstraction’s job! To be used in place of thought.

Just make sure you introduce your genetic control system early enough into your product cycle that you don’t risk unrestrained features from dominating the end product.

The parallels between Hoover and Trump disgust me, because they imply history is gonna try to polish up Trump’s image post facto and convert him from a swear word to a shrug for future generations.

Yes, but who reads books?

Look, they need to have a Jewish state named Israel and be allied with them to magically summon God and make themselves absolute rulers over mankind. None of that means they need to actually like Jewish people.

This just in: man who claims to be a businessman doesn’t understand profit motive. Past bankruptcies may be more understandable with this revelation. That, or he doesn’t think we understand it.

It’s because “deficit” is about the longest word he ever learned, he learned one definition for it, and he’s never going to change his mind. If they were called “trade bing-bongs” literally none of this would have happened.

So he actually wants to target something very specific with these taxes and is annoyed that it’s bot working. Perhaps he needs to raise a different kind of tax that is narrowly applied? Maybe to income directly?

People who don’t understand dispensationalism and its impact on American evangelicalism will have no clue why such virulently antisemitic people are so pro-Israel. To them I say: they’re trying to summon God and they need a jewish Israel to do it, by their belief system.

Yeah, but those voters are the enemy they want to keep quiet… or rather, win their votes by default without having to make policy changes that could hurt them in their private lives.

These are not mutually exclusive catastrophes.

To answer that, we would need to discuss the role of dispensationalism in fundamentalist evangelical eschatology. The long story short, though, is that the belief itself is Billy Graham’s fault, and the adoption by these fascists is Ronald Reagan’s.

Is that possibly something that could cause an overturn/mistrial on appeal?

My hot take: Boomers will not trust anyone younger than themselves, because for their whole lives they were taught that they were the last generation: Either Christ was coming back (thanks Graham) or the bombs were dropping. Now that they’re naturally aging out they see it as decline, or betrayal.

Sure there are ways! They don’t, y’know, cure patients or manage symptoms, but they do make this quack and his allies rich while hurting minorities the most. The very definition if “good!”

True believers and hacks are really hard to tell apart in most circumstances. This judge might be a true believer in limiting government overreach, or he might just be an out-of-it simple hack.
