“A new court bid has been launched to stop Woodside Energy’s plan to extend the life of the North West Shelf gas export facility Nth WA until 2070. The proposal, which last month won conditional approval from the fed govt has been challenged WA supreme court by Friends of Australian Rock Art.” ➡️

BREAKING: A federal judge reversed National Institutes of Health's terminations of hundreds of critical research grants that were canceled because of their alleged connection to disfavored topics, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and gender identity. This is a major win for public health.

This past Saturday, Donald Trump's self-aggrandizing birthday parade was held in stark contrast to thousands of protests across the country. But what does this non-violent resistance against Trump add up to in terms of creating real change? Looking to history can help.

Trump's insistence that Israel attacking Iran is nothing to do with the US? "Nothing, that is, except it was forewarned, and that central to Israel's military capability is US funding, US hardware, US intelligence and US technology." John Lyons www.abc.net.au/news/2025-06...

At least 12 million people ( 3.7% of US pop) took a stand against the Trump regime and fascism on Saturday. The next step is a national general strike and boycotts. When 3.5% of the whole population of a nation has begun to participate in resistance, success is inevitable. #3E #NoKings #StopICE

"Donald Trump has wrecked America’s brand. He’s made crossing over from Canada a betrayal, bordering on treason, while turning the U.S. into a laughingstock around the globe." @rollingstone.com www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

🚨 Rebel News just lost its court battle for official journalism status. The judge found only 10 of 423 posts met the standard for real news. The CRA ruled most were opinion, rewrites, or activist fundraising—not journalism. The ruling makes one thing clear: propaganda isn’t journalism.

For once the National Anti Corruption Commission #NACC has made a wise and correct decision. My best wishes to #BrittanyHiggins for her future life. Higgins' $2.4m payout cleared of corruption www.thenewdaily.com.au/news/2025/06...

Yesterday I saw the extent of protests in USA as a glimmer of hope. But ABCNews has brought me back to reality, illustrating exactly how thoroughly media organisations can minimise events. Who makes these decisions and why?

ABCNews: “tens of thousands”. 11 million+ is lots of tens of thousands. The report sounded as though the Birthday parade was America’s main focus and the rest also happened, especially violence in LA.

So it was the "No Kings" marches versus the "No Crowds" parade

Remarkable. MSNC: "I want to reiterate this has been 100% peaceful." Seconds later, LA County sheriffs start firing on the crowd. Yet again, "law enforcement" deliberately escalated.

“It’s worth thinking on, though the daunting possibility is that it’s a conundrum best resolved by journalists balancing the government’s assertions with alternative perspectives based on actual policy knowledge. That would run counter to the majority press gallery practice of decades…” ⤵️ #auspol

Please ABCNews give commentators counting lessons “tens of thousands across the country” 🙄

AUKUS must be ‘America first’. Everyone else second. Pretty clear. Only supplicant mugs would keep writing the cheques. Time for a review.

ABC insists on calling on Joe Hockey for his 'expertise' on #AUKUS. They identify him as former ambassador to the US. But fail to note that he is a current lobbyist for weapons companies in the US and Australia. aka conflict of interest. #ThisIsNotJournalism #auspol www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...

The names of six officials involved in the scheme, referred to the NACC by the Robodebt Royal Commission, are in a sealed section of the royal commission report not made public. #auspol #NACC #robodebt

What they aren’t showing on Fox News

The US is reviewing #AUKUS! The program is an unaffordable, sovereign sapping and highly risky defence acquisition - a huge blunder of Scott Morrison, embraced by @albomp.bsky.social. Trump will likely demand more $ billions, or else exit. We should pull the plug. #auspol

Crossfire = gunfire from two or more directions passing through the same area. The only people firing are police.

"Overlooked ... are the low-paid workers who get no tax break at all for ... super" The final word on the super tax hysteria ahem ... trickles down from @michaelpascoe01.bsky.social #auspol michaelwest.com.au/the-truth-of...

#ICYMI Is the prime minister’s new slogan merely a crafty label to be retrofitted to existing Labor policy? 📰 #AUViews bit.ly/45hZl5k by @markgkenny.bsky.social via @crikey.com.au.

"Gaza, Gaza, Paris is with you" Tens of thousands took to the streets in Paris, demanding the release of the Madleen crew, which just arrived at the Ashdod Port.

Too many of you didn't believe Hillary - and it all came true. Too many of you didn't believe Harris - and it's coming true now. Too many of you won't learn the lesson, until it's too late.

Australia needs clarity. If the PM responsible for Robodebt can be rewarded, nothing is off limits. If we don’t speak up, we are silently agreeing to live in a nation where cruelty is policy and honour is survival at the top. #auspol #Honour

Meanjin! Drink!

Perhaps the government should try an announcement saying that they’re not going to talk about productivity, jobs and wages. Would the reaction of journalists including ABC be as negative?

this is not okay It is so so wrong It's time to ensure apprenticeships are linked to Commonwealth contracts across Australia #Malarndirri-McCarthy needs @australianlabor.bsky.social ministers to do better on this #auspol

I beg the Australian gov. Take sanctions against Israel. End the blockade. Support the flotilla that’s waiting to bring food into #Gaza that has not seen food for a frighteningly long time. Never let it be said that Australia assisted in starving a nation to death. #Auspol youtu.be/1R8JHrNAlYM

🇦🇺s lobbying rules are completely broken & it’s hurting our democracy. The PM should use his huge majority to clean up our lobbying laws. Too often the major parties team up against this kind of reform me & the xbench have been pushing www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

They have got to be kidding me. www.smh.com.au/national/hon...

There are few places more breathtaking than Ningaloo. But the major parties keep approving projects that are killing it. We have the technology to transition. What we lack is leaders with the courage to act. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

“A final challenge for Sussan Ley will be to end the Sky News partnership, to discourage colleagues from appearing in their fawning interviews,” writes John Hewson. “This has lacked professionalism and has certainly not resonated with Australians.” https://trib.al/bJRL94H
