Isn't it Justin Stevens? The boss of 'news'. He's a complete dud. ABC News is an embarrassment of propaganda, bias and trivia.

I ask myself that question constantly. Their idea of “news” isn’t mine any more. How much mention did you see or hear of the protests last Saturday? I thought it was important news - but I’ve heard more time spent attempting to rationalise D.Trump’s irrational ramblings.

Sounds like the WMD lies that John Howard unilaterally took Australia into the invasion of Iraq Why we need war powers reform #auspol

And it’s not yet Thursday in the USA.

D.Trump loves to think he’s powerful & in control but has had an awful week that even he might have to admit to himself. His parade was a failure, millions protested against him, he seemed to be treated like crazy old uncle at G7 & a court ruled against him. www.forbes.com/sites/alison...

I wish I could apply it to ABC NewsBreakfast.

It’s a pity L.Besser/Media Watch aren’t on Bluesky- I’d like to ask him about ABC coverage of last weekend’s protests. My impression is there wasn’t any to speak of & I wonder why. They covered every single US government nominations in detail.

It is a satire site called Waterford Whispers News - out of Ireland - very good

The Press conference showed above all that journalists there were obsessed with D.Trump & I suspect kowtowing to him. He’s one country’s leader who doesn’t enjoy much respect.

Channel 9 last night said A.Albanese was “ghosted”. 🙄

B. Netanyahu’s claim that nuclear weapons will very soon be achieved, (which he’s said many times before), in Australian media became “THE nuclear weapons programme” as yesterday advanced.

He did it the last time too & there are a few hints that his unpopularity & the lack of respect for him were clear.

Of all the leaders there he wanted to seem he was needed most because he was the most important. After all, around 12 million of his own people wanted him gone at the weekend & his pride may be bruised - not that ABCNews knows that.

Why aren't things like www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvd7... better known in the USA? Trump's affinity with Israel and Russia is to some part related to money laundering (via real estate) and conflict diamonds (diamond trade, next to weaponry, is the main exports/imports between USA and Israel).

Definitely!

Yet there’s so little challenge. This article sums up his attitude to global relations www.politico.com/story/2019/0...

You don’t think as some do that he’s exercising “plausible deniability”? It seems he can stop some Israeli actions but not others & he’s virtually repeating the “weapons within days” claim by B.Netanyahou. Still, I don’t believe for a minute I can make him out!

Al Jazeera News pointed out that he left early last time & it must be clear even to him that his claim of non-involvement in the Israel/Iran conflict just isn’t credible.

Based on a claim about “weapons of mass destruction” being days from production? Has that been substantiated?

It’s our national broadcaster, government funded. Most of the rest is owned by Murdoch & I think his influence is pervasive. We heard ad nauseam about each individual nomination for US government positions, so it’s not for lack of US coverage.

The Australian national broadcaster ABC has completely buried it. In rare mentions they’ve said “thousands”. I can’t see what an Australian motive might be.

The ABC doing WWMCD (What would NewsCorp Do) to work out their news values...

They seem to have completely buried the US protests. ABC radio mentioned - “thousands”.

I'm going to say the *state* premiers did a mostly amazing job (a few mistakes out of NSW, but even then a pretty good effort). The Federal government were utterly useless. It's an insult to see the wording attached to Morrison's AC.

The way it’s been treated by ABCNews in Australia could be used to teach strategies that minimise an event.
