Current status: Cone 06 bisque firing to finish up some underglaze work and fire a couple of bigger pieces that didn't make it into the last kilnload. This should finish in a couple of hours and I'll unload tomorrow. Next up: A whole bunch of glazing, and hopefully a glaze firing next weekend.

JEDI: Justice Equity Diversity Inclusion This is the way. Only the Sith are against the ways of the JEDI.

Just realized I've been an ex-Mozillian as long as I was a Mozillian. Time flies.

I have signed up for entirely too many newsletters and substacks. Good christ, my inbox.

There's strong evidence that women's participation in security efforts makes countries safer. That's why leaders in over 100 countries have taken action to further it. One of them—who signed the U.S. Women, Peace & Security Act into law in 2017—was Donald Trump.

Why is my pen squeaking!?

Is there any way to make bsky show posts in actual frickin' order?

I wish the stakes weren't so high, but goddamn I love democracy day. 💪🇨🇦

With all sincerity, Elections Canada is a national treasure. - Voting typically takes less than 15 minutes - We make it easy for citizens to vote, without cumbersome registration hurdles - We have every reason to trust that ballots will be counted fairly, and results reported swiftly

Elbows up asshat!

Today's ceramic artist whose work I utterly covet: www.taylorsijan.com/recent-work-...

On being called DEI and why it isn’t the burn they think it is

this 1996 commercial for claritin sent me into flight or flight. an absolute psycho directed this

I'm currently reading a novel that flips between like 3 different timelines, all close in time but with distinct differences. I read 5-10 pages a night as I'm falling asleep. I am so, so confused.

Today's ceramic artist whose work I absolutely adore is Craig Underhill. Love love his stuff. www.craigunderhill.co.uk

Heads up book nerds...I took advantage of an earlier version of this deal and the books are brilliant and his Substack is a delight.

Resistance is NOT futile

Here's another ceramic artist whose work I absolutely adore (I managed to buy one of her cups last year). Just gorgeous stuff. www.lesleymcinally.com

But did you know that dogs can whisper? 🤫 🔊 sound up! 🎥tt|rexgraf

The dumbing down begins with a Poilievre government

Here's another ceramic artist whose stuff I legit covet (but will never be able to afford). I think if I could do an apprenticeship with any living potter, this would be the guy peterbeard.co.uk

My voice is my passport

I think I'm going to start posting links to ceramic artists' website whose work I admire. This one has been open in a tab all week. www.megangant.co.uk/work

Ngl, the "discover" algo here is slightly bonkers. For whatever reason apparently I am a *hardcore* soccer fan today. (I am not.)

Friday: “when journalists shouted for Poilievre to clarify his position, his staff moved in to surround reporters and drown them out with clapping.” #cdnpoli

Playing with some pot decorating ideas. This is underglaze wash over wax resist brushwork. When glazed and fired these colours will be much darker and the brushwork will be bright white (there's food colouring in the wax, but that burns out entirely). I really enjoy this process.

I managed to miss this one on the way through www.science.org/content/arti...

This might fly under the radar in the initial coverage of the Liberal platform, but seems relevant to the larger discussion about Canada's response to events in the United States. The Liberals are attaching $25 million per year over the next four years to this promise.

Hey, free books y'all. Chip in for postage if you can. I love Tom's writing (so much so that I already have all his books and subscribe to his Substack).

Today on the podcast, I talk with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. @markcarneyforpm.bsky.social

Karina Gould 🇨🇦 - #cdnpoli When someone tells you who they are, believe them. The Federal Govt should not use the Notwithstanding Clause. Here are my thoughts from last year. We can see what's happening in the US when a President disregards the courts, don't let them happen here in Canada.

Obsessively reloading poll trackers and idly staving off a low grade panic attack most of the time. Whee.

"The notwithstanding clause must not be used to entrench human rights violations. If we’re not vigilant, there’s no guarantee that the notwithstanding clause won’t be invoked to undermine women’s rights to choose, for example." #cdnpoli #pierrepoilievre #markcarney amnesty.ca/human-rights...
