This is extraordinary. A database tracking legal decisions in cases where generative #AI produced hallucinated content; both fabricated citations and ficticious court rulings. 112 cases so far; 19 this month: www.damiencharlotin.com/hallucinatio... Source: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Business dudes have been suckered by “yo, this computer *thinks*” since the 1950s.

How can we build plagiarism machines if you don't let us plagiarise? Come on, be reasonable www.thetimes.com/uk/technolog...

It is nearly 4 months on and I am still obsessed by Benson Boone’s flip off the piano at the GRAMMY’s. Can I learn to do that? Am late 40s. Suspect it’s too late for me. Can I at least try it without suffering a non-fatal injury?

This has been the consensus of every leading AI researcher I know who is serious about the science and the evidence, as opposed to a) trying to push a product or a brand and/or b) viewing the creation of AGI as an article of religious faith and devotion.

Yes! Hallucinations and sycophancy are not some unintended consequence of AI. They are features, not bugs. If we want to improve things, we need changes in design, governance and incentives, not end-of-pipe fixes.

🚨 New study reveals that when used to summarize scientific research, generative AI is nearly five times less accurate than humans. Many haven't realized, but Gen AI's accuracy problem is worse than initially thought.

i dont want to be a killjoy but we desperately need to make it socially unacceptable to talk about asking chatgpt things in regular conversation

I suppose if you’re proposing to torpedo British arts by wrapping our IP in a bow and giving it to Sam Altman in the hope he might let you clean his shoes, there’s no longer much call for a Culture department in government.

Hell no what is WRONG WITH THEM??!! If you do not want AI assessing your REF outputs, impact case studies and environment statements you might just like to fill in this little survey 👇👇👇

It should be illegal to publish the rich list without an accompanying (anonymised) list and account of the lives of some of the poorest people in the country.

Right, it's been A TIME, and it might be too late, but we have a fantastic website thanks to @natbuckley.bsky.social. Anti-SXSW is vaguely go! We just need you to help make it happen. If you'd like to run an FKFJ event, or get involved: fkfj.london

A tense movie scene but it’s me with my husband cradling my face, his forehead pressed to mine, as he sobs the words “You. cannot. answer. all the emails. You cannot. No one can.” and I nod acceptance as tears stream watery tracks down my cheeks.

Just spent 45mins at my kid’s school listening to them talk (fib) about their inclusion support. The perky duo from the mental health team did a chirpy “hi! Your kids have probably mentioned us!” at which point mine turned to me, solemn, and said “I’ve never seen these people before in my life.” 🤣

If anyone needs me, I’m outside WH Smith shrieking “£7.99 for envelopes?!?!?”

"Let's give our paint some lovely evocative colour names!" Are you effin' kidding me?

Fantastic ending to Baroness Kidron's speech in the House of Lords yesterday, which led to the government's defeat on AI & copyright. Speaking the UK's creators: "Their property, their labour, is worthy of your protection - because apart from anything else, it is not ours to give away."
