Also the muted phrases at bottom! I muted 'I don't know who needs to hear this'... because, however innocuous the content, I am immediately enraged by whoever is declaring themselves god's anointed prophet to deliver a public service announcement.

It bums me out every time I see someone say "well just go back to blue books" as though professors haven't been working really hard to develop the specific assessments that fit their discipline and teaching goals and students. Why should they change their assessments? ChatGPT's the one who sucks.

A reminder that the entire #DisabilityStudies team at Liverpool Hope (my former colleagues) are threatened with redundancy. Devastating not just for individuals, but for the field. Students have written this powerful open letter about the impact. #SaveHopeDisabilityStudies

🚨AURORA🚨 Very good chances of a strong Aurora display tonight/tomorrow! In the north, we haven’t had true darkness now for a fortnight so it’s going to have to be powerful to cut through the perpetual twilight, but, stats are looking very strong currently 🤞

What is this I see before me? A talk? By me!? Online and free? How delicious! 7th June at 10am and 7pm, I'll be talking 'Terror' and 'Horror' and diving deep into 18th century terror theory! Brace yourselves. 10 - www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1391116138... 7 - www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1391116640...

'AI' slop being forced on us aggressively has elevated my appreciation of the worst misspelled illiterate drivel/ incoherent scribble produced by *actual human beings trying to express meaning* to a kind of religious reverence

The inter-neurodivergent bullying between Gurathin & Murderbot is far too real...

please stop me licking English mustard off the spoon. I keep doing it.

Powerful open letter from Liverpool Hope #DisabilityStudies students/grads in response to proposed redundancy of the ENTIRE DS team: DS "is not just an academic discipline but a lifeline. [Tutors] bring lived expertise, intellectual leadership, and care that cannot be replicated elsewhere"

This is so important - there are very few universities in the UK with dedicated disability studies centres, teams or degree programmes. Losing this specialism at Liverpool Hope would be a huge loss of national significance in that respect.

I was worrying about my memory because for the past week I couldn't remember that Lumpy Space Princess is called Lumpy Space Princess

This is what I'm struggling to grasp in so many areas of life now. What do you call people in power whose core motive for wilful, malicious destruction appears to be not even profit but simply the thrill of being the destroyer?

It's important to remember that Tube tunnels are lined with unexploded German bombs and skellingtons from plague pits and mass-graves of decapitated Roman soldiers

First time on the London Tube, which I had avoided with terror and dread (cos it's underground & HAUNTED), I was hesitating at the ticket machine, and an IMMIGRANT spent ages patiently showing me the ticket options and gave me a Tube map and explained the lines. Tube is still haunted, though.

Getting stuck while we're writing is a feature, not a bug. It's the point of the exercise. It's what happens when we are trying to express something we have not expressed before. That friction forces us to make the tools we need to understand and express it. Getting stuck is how we make meaning.
