Sinners is… Wow.

My 12 year old has outgrown my 18 year old 😮 Also, we’re all together again! 😍

It’s time to adjust tenure and promotion expectations

🚨 We’re hiring! Científico Latino, Inc. is looking for a Program Director to lead two national STEM mentorship programs. Fully remote, impact-driven role in higher ed 🎓👩‍🔬 📌 Apply: cientificolatino.com/job 💼 Know someone? Send it their way!

After a wonderful lunch and tour with superstars @frutag33.bsky.social, @lmkdassama.bsky.social and Hawa Racine Thiam, I briefly ran into @carolynbertozzi.bskyverified.social getting off the elevator! Day made! 🤩

Wow, the Stanford medical campus is beautiful!!! 🤩 Been at SLAC or the undergrad campus, so this is my first time here. Just wow!

"Look for private foundation funding..."

This coffee shop has been a lifesaver while at SLAC and today they not only remembered my order and name, but gave me a free pastry as a goodbye. Their pastries are amazing! If you’re ever at SLAC, you must stop by!

I am a proud HHMI Gilliam Fellow alumn. The HHMI funded me at a critical time in my career - a real inflection point that made me realize that I had a place and future in science. I always looked to the HHMI as a safety net to those historically excluded by academia, 1/4

It should be clear by now that "just apply for more grants" cannot be considered good advise much longer. What do other institutions discuss re: how to support pre-tenure (and post-tenure) to meet the grant requirement or, quite frankly, to continue running their labs?

This. And wasted time working on applications to mechanisms that get canceled doesn’t count toward promotion/tenure either…

The things in science that cannot be touched: amazing colleagues/friends.

Literally, all the early career funding opportunities are going away or being drastically reduced, and people are still saying “apply for more grants” to those whose grants were terminated 🤷🏾‍♀️

Finding out HHMI is canceling the Hanna H. Gray Fellows competition is heartbreaking. Especially since if they decide to hold it next year, I’ll no longer be eligible

🚨The administration's FY 2026 budget proposes drastic funding reductions to #NIH with a 40% cut & #NSF with a 60% cut. These unprecedented cuts would severely erode progress in biomedical and biological research. Contact Congress to oppose these cuts and support FASEB's funding request. 🔗

So cool! 😎

This has been a work hard play hard kind of trip. We have a long day tomorrow and we finished early today so we went to the tidal pools 😁 100/10

"Women are PIs on 58% of the canceled grants, although they are PIs on only 34% of all active NSF grants. Similarly, Blacks are PIs on 17% of the terminated grants, although they make only 4% of the total pool. Hispanic PIs and those with disabilities were twice as likely to lose a grant."

Ahem (clears throat). We are pleased to announce: ✨ 🧑🏾‍🔬 Black In Micro Week Returns 🦠 Get ready for October 2025!! Stay tuned for *abstract* submissions and full *program* info released this summer. COMING SOON. We're Baaaaaack #BlackInMicro #BiM2025 #BlackInMicrobiology

This little guy rode with us from SLAC to our Airbnb 😂

Hello, Bluesky! We’re FASEB—a federation of scientific societies advancing health & well-being by promoting biological & biomedical sciences through collaborative advocacy & service to our member societies. We’re excited to join this community. Let’s connect & amplify science together! www.faseb.org

My youngest brother graduated! Congrats!!! I couldn’t attend but my middle child was there to support 🎉🎓

Last year, I shared a gofundme for one of our students that made it to nationals for the National History Day competition. This year, his younger brother is going. Our first junior high student to make it to Nationals! There is no funding for travel and registration. Please help! gofund.me/5d6ef6f5

✨Cheers to a great year! Congratulations to our graduates 🎓

Literally everything 🥰 My first Mother’s Day away from my fam, but when I get home we’ll all be reunited for the first time since Christmas, and that will be the best present! #collegemoms

Lux Capital providing funding opportunities for academic biomedical research aligned with interests 👏 www.luxcapital.com/news/our-hel...

Today was special 🥰 Watching my data collect while visiting the aquarium, the bakeries, and the beach!
