Oh alright then, if you insist . 🤭 *unrolls extensive list.

The state of our university system is 😱. People are losing their jobs and courses are being cut at a heartbreaking rate. We need artists and creative work and some career areas depend on degrees. What’s going on? #plymouthUniversity #FineArtMatters #ArtTeachers #ArtTherapy #ArtFullstop

This is a *key* new paper in the world of school mental health interventions A very large trial (N=6388) testing a universal CBT-based app for adolescent depression (13-14y) No effects found (on depression, anxiety, distress or insomnia) (🧵) mentalhealth.bmj.com/content/28/1...

Stories of autism and how they shape us. An extract from The Neurodiversity Affirmative Child Autism Assessment Handbook by Dr Maeve Kavanagh, Dr Anna Day, Davida Hartman, @taraodk.bsky.social and @jessicakdoyle.bsky.social www.bps.org.uk/psychologist...

Only 3 chapters in and already worth the wait. 🥳 A belated Mother’s Day pressie 🥰. @marklawrenceauthor.bsky.social

Interesting read on what can change relatively easily if we want an education system that works for everyone. the-difference.com/wp-content/u...

#bookskybooks📚what a beautiful book. Not sure how I am going to follow that or leave these people behind.

#edpsychs As part of our research on the DEdPsy course at UEL, colleagues and I are seeking participants for our research into EPs’ values and their impact on use of assessment tools. EPs working in the UK are eligible to take part and we would be so grateful! forms.office.com/e/kbDBmm9nWc

📣Attention all EP doctorate applicants! We want to re-share Episode 7 where we discuss our journeys into educational psychology and applying for the #doctorate! Listen on Spotify and Apple Share with anyone interested in the course 🩵 #edpsychs

My thesis looking into self regulated learning in secondary schools. Having a focus on processes rather than content in learning situations helps a wider range of learners develop a sense of competence. 😊 #edpych #education

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered... Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” ― George Orwell, 1984

Me in the WSJ today, arguing that the relationship between social media and mental health is not clear cut, and bans for teenagers aren't the answer. (NB I did not pick this title, I would have gone for something kinder. I understand why people are worried.) 1/ www.wsj.com/health/welln...

Great discussion Re the EP role, & representation. Mainly people who are supported by parents or partners able to apply. Limiting diversity. I waited ~15 years to apply as 1yr masters changed to 3 yr doctorate. I’d stayed as P/T so the training fees were nearly a match to my income.

Starting my weekend my favourite way and now adding Littlest Hobo theme tune to my list of pointless things I’ve remembered for years. @markradcliffe.bsky.social @stuartmaconie.bsky.social Is this why I can’t remember anything else? #KnewAllTheWords

TEPICC have just released their reflective spaces for Black and Global majority applicants to the doctoral course. They host these spaces each year to provide support for applicants prior to interview 🤩 #EdPsychs Do share ❤️ www.eventbrite.com/cc/pre-tep-r...

Christmas present reading on a crispy day. What are people reading this weekend? Still life was a slow start for me but now am fully invested.

Absolutely loving this book.

Christmas is different when your children don’t wake up till lunch time. Silver linings: we are making new traditions and last night had the best time at a silent disco at Esquires. Genius idea. Great finding new things to enjoy with adult daughter.

‘Simply sit with me in the dark…’ Dr Natalie Carpenter on the empathy and connection needed to bear the unbearable. www.bps.org.uk/psychologist...

www.safehandsthinkingminds.co.uk/wp-content/u... people have been asking so just resharing my communication cards. Illustrated by Emma Paxton from imagistic. Free to use. Please just make sure are referenced. So many ways they can be infused into assessments, support, conversations, & communication

Another moment of naivety re accessibility. Question: why is the breast scanning machine for standing users only? Aren’t all other scanners horizontal? BBC breakfast reported this am, cancer can’t be detected or monitored in some wheelchair users. 🤯

Lots of people don’t function well under stress. Growing up in shouty and fear based household means we can travel back to a frightened headspace when under stress. From a learning perspective invoking those feelings isn’t helpful.

Another great Lottery Winners song 🥹will be talking about belonging next week at ELSA training m.youtube.com/watch?v=tPLS...

Feeling boosted after an exhausting patch because the feedback from Emotion Coaching staff training last night was so positive. Reflection from the team in school was ‘our behaviour policy needs to change’ 🥰💪

Loved this story. Not sure why things are listed as young adult rather than just fiction. Spent the afternoon in the company of a mother and son in post apocalyptic Wales. Left me reflecting again on those strange Covid times and why our lives are so full of things that don’t matter…sometimes.
