Moss have a cool lifecycle. Those sporophytes are whole diploid plants growing out of (and fed by) their haploid mother, who was fertilized in a water drop. They'll make a ton of haploid spores, which will also be carried off in water to form new male and female haploid plants :)

Similar to the work being done on Kauai! I used to work right on the HulΔβia river as this project was just starting, what they've accomplished is beautiful malamahuleia.org

The first time we were gonna take my dog out on a hike she ate cat poop and got sick and threw up and then ate her throw up and then got sick and threw it up again so we just stayed home instead. But she's a doofus, your dog is supposed to be a smartypants π§

I mean my wii bowling technique was to adjust my lil character stance & then quickly flick my wrist, which definitely doesn't translate to real bowling. So unless they do better physics simulation & you can somehow make the thing in your hand feel as heavy I don't see how this would translate

Or wait, is it that you want the friction? Like spacing out so you don't send multiple in a row?

Haha I have never heard this birdcare theory! I handle mine as much as possible to get them very socialized and it makes medical care sooooo much easier. But yeah some creatures just naturally have wonderful dispositions, got lucky with that rooster

I can't think of any specific breeds that I'd describe as 'docile', they're all lil fuckheads, but I've always had good luck with sweetie boy roosters regardless of breed, thankfully

Yeah having a dude 12 inches taller than me shaped like a slab of meat is definitely helpful lol
But he's got work in town and the drive home ain't quick

Awwww lil sweetie. The ones on the edge of Vegas were almost 2 feet tall and *very* aggressive+territorial. Terrifying birdmonsters

So small and cute! Not like the giant scary ones that'd chase me out of gardens on the edge of Las Vegas

This typa shit is why I refuse to have anything bigger than small goats on the farm. I'm too exhausted already, don't need to be heaving giant doofuses around with my tiny body

Awful about the beetles, but hooray about baby pinion! I've got so many invasives on my land, more than half the work I do is just clearing them. Strawberry guava, koster's curse, Himalayan raspberry and ginger mostly. Been getting an intense workout the last few days with the damn raspberries
