Yesterday I was so excited that it was Thursday. That today would be Friday. When I was informed it was, in fact, Wednesday I was devastated.

I get students to write an essay as prep for the tutorial (don't care how they do it), then in the actual session I get them to write out the main bullet points of their essay because if they don't know/can't remember what they wrote it's pretty pointless as an exam exercise...

Mine have the same issue with old school immuno where you have to time the DAB exposure EVERY TIME. 'But it came up in 30s last time'....'yes, but it might not this time' blows their mind.

Devastated to be missing Oxford this evening, I'm A Joke is one of my favourite books and am picking up the new one today! Hope you enjoy the city in the sunshine!

So I heard (no idea how true this is btw) that part of the issue is the form doesn't like blank boxes. So if they're missing a DOB for someone they just put something in the 1800s because they know nobody will believe it. But apparently they massively underestimated the stupidity of a lot of people.

Yep! We've got yellow ones and the pink and white ones that remind me a little of seaside rock. I enjoy that they open during the day and close at night, very fun! Our only problem is we're on heavy clay so they go sort of floppy! 😂

Can't believe I made that error! That was the pet peeve of one of my PhD supervisors. Clearly rage/stress/sadness took over my grammar brain.

Well done! You are officially 1/3 ahead of me. I achieved nothing today.

Someone posted it on here at some point and I had never trialled it until I saw Caitlin's post and thought 'I wonder if that actually works' and it turns out yes, yes it does

I have only trialled this once & it worked, if you just put a swearword somewhere in your search string the AI bit disappears & you just get regular google back. I just tried two tabs, one with 'microglia activation vs proliferation' and one with the same but with 'fuck' at the end and voila, no AI

I still call stuff novel if it's been done in like the last 10 years....which is probably way too long...
