Poor choices landed me here. OIF and OEF vet, former AUS (the airport, not the country) and Army spox, now talking energy. Generally helpful, usually on background.

One of my all time favorite planes, especially that specific model where they were like "what if we put a tank gun and a bunch of .50 cals in the nose and just flew straight at targets blasting away?"

Retiring/transitioning military LinkedIn is tragic to say the least.

It was always weird (because, yay venture capital!) that the site was owned by Monster, but selling to Valnet, who are known for killing newsrooms to build clickbait mills, is troubling to say the least. Military.com has a tremendous team of journalists and I can't picture this going well.

More info on the whole image here: rubinobservatory.org/news/rubin-f... The Rubin team estimates there are TEN MILLION GALAXIES in the full mosaic image.

This is 1/1000th of the Rubin telescope's field of view. How many galaxies do you see? There are three really obvious ones. Looking more closely, you could find a dozen more that are recognizably galaxy-ish. But really? It's likely that EVERY LITTLE DOT AND SMUDGE is a distant galaxy. All of them. 🤯

Also the dumb NYT site didn't show the movie I added - it's "The Night Comes For Us" by Timo Tjahjanto. A must see for action folks. My criteria for "best" is movies that made me gasp when I saw them, which is all of these (though there might be one or two I could rotate out).

Taking all the money “saved” by doge, lighting it on fire and dropping it on a mountain. At least we are losing cancer research over it.
