The impact of AI agents on work isn’t just a binary “automate or not.”
We introduce the Human Agency Scale: a 5-level scale to capture the spectrum between automation and augmentation--where technology complements and enhances human capabilities.

I feel like the LLM replacers are similar to the folks saying we should replace solar with fusion power.
Sure, solar isn't perfect, but it's cheap, flexible, and proven.
If you want to replace solar with fusion - you have to make fusion work first!

Binary in the digital sense, but not binary in the gender sense?

Great point, and that has been the central challenge with Mastodon - there's no algorithm *and* discovery is poor. Bluesky has much better discovery by design, but you still have to invest to get good results.
Time from joining to "good feed" should be a major focus of networks going forward.

This is the paper I see cited most often. A closed loop system transports heat from the computers to a cooling tower, then the heat is transferred either to the surrounding air to blow away or a water system to flow away/evaporate.

The papers that cite this usually mean either evaporative cooling or "consumed" by hydroelectric - either way, fresh water no longer available for other uses.

Yeah, call centers and software dev are well-developed use cases with proven ROI at this point. Other workflows have some frictions (customization, confidentiality, etc) that will be helped with more training and better tooling. Still a lot of runway IMO.

Can you share an example? I see humorous, playful discussions, but I don't know what you would consider "slapstick".

Please suggest two alternative metaphorical frameworks that may be both suitable and humorous.
