15 hour flight + 12 hour detention + 15 hour flight = one of the harder experiences of my life I had it easy, one woman had been in that detention room 4 days when I arrived, she’s still there

Which again makes me think that they got bad orders/guidance. 4. This could really escalate over the wknd w/ the planned protests tomorrow. If they really are operating with instructions that permit civ LE functions, we’re going to see a lot of detentions. This needs to be cleared up ASAP. 6/6

3. The fact that the case isn’t even ambiguous when it comes to threat of violence or disorder is especially bad. The Standing Rules for the Use of Force authorize force in very limited situations… a dude trying to get into his office doesn’t come close to qualifying. 5/

2. THIS WHY THE MARINES SHOULDN’T BE THERE. We still don’t have an explanation of the legal authorities the admin is using to deploy the Marines; 10 USC 12406 only applies to the *GUARD.* Involving the Marines is not just superfluous but creates MORE, not less, confusion. 3/

NIH Grant Terminated: A study investigating why women of color disproportionately die from cervical cancer. Black and Hispanic women are more likely than their white peers to be diagnosed, and often at later stages, and Adana Llanos was investigating why. In March, her grant was terminated.
