This is also true for your influencers, and your media personalities. If they only show up for what affects them, or what is "brand-safe", know that they'll drop you under the bus the very first moment it's easier for them. See who speaks up for trans rights, for disabilities, and for Palestine.

I so deeply agree and also I’m thinking of you and always hoping for your safety amidst this escalation. Also I wish YOUR opinions on games went that viral, it would be a breath of fresh air!

Like, the world is on fire and desperately needs us to give the best of ourselves, and you're on a social media site worrying about whether someone who hasn't written an adventure scenario can call themselves a game designer? EMBARRASSING. Log off and do something better with your time.

When I read this stuff about what makes a "real" game designer all I hear are the many people who have "debated" whether I am REALLY queer, REALLY disabled, REALLY genderfluid, REALLY Jewish... as if I need to prove myself again and again to a tribunal be judged enough. No. I don't and I won't.

Fuck your coalition full of people who told us we had victims' mentalities. Fuck your coalition full of people policing language. I'm not joining a coalition led by people who ignored every sign that this was coming and now believe they should be centered over the people who TOLD YOU.

it's very humbling that these sweet groups of mostly-boomers look to me for guidance and leadership when stuff like this hits but it ain't easy! and then one has to go one's altar and be like okay y'all... I'm only human... can it rain a little without pouring? help me out here.

I very very very much want to experiment with this for a project you know about. I don’t know if the right system will emerge but I have hopes!

seeing one person in a sea of unmasked people, and the mask is what allows that person to be singled out and arrested as all the unmasked onlookers shout about how this is wrong, should wake you up.
it IS wrong. and NOT wearing a mask makes it easier to isolate the people who do. understand.

we do not live in a "post-COVID" world. that's fake. that's a lie.
and frankly I'm tired of having to be polite on behalf of people who don't give a single solitary fuck about the safety of others.
wear a mask. it isn't just for you, you're making a decision that affects others, as well.

also someone let one loose that I can smell through my N95 mask. this plus the country disintegrating in real time is really putting a damper on my mood

I dressed more traditionally femme today because I was doing the equation of how I’ll be treated based on dress and presentation and then I got depressed that I feel like I have to do that math at all. 😭 (at least the dress I’m wearing is very comfy and I like it!)

also something that fascinates me (derogatory): people who have known me but don’t know I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user encountering me in public and being like “😯😧😱🤯 But whyyyyyy are you in a WHEELCHAIR?!?!?! Oh my god!! I hope you’ll be out of there soon!”

also fascinating to me: the people who freeze like a deer in the headlights; the people who seem to render me completely invisible; and the people who get a look of nervousness and cut such a wide berth around the chair to where I’m like… you know it’s not contagious, right?
