Worried about crime? While bright lighting definitely increase the *perception* of safety, the reality is not so simple. A review of multiple studies shows a mixed bag, with some indicating a weak correlation between safety and light, and others showing lighting corresponding to elevated crime.

Wondering how reducing your lighting can effect change? Anything that reduces the overall skyglow over a city helps. The beginning of this animated short shows how migrating birds can be drawn off course towards generalized sky glow. What happens next isn't pretty. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ_O...

Go, EMILY! But also... WI Supreme Court, please. Let's not let fElon buy this election. We need Susan Crawford to win!

That really does seem to be true over the past decades.

I mean, AltNPS has been around since 2016 or 2017...

AltNPS is part of BlueAnon? Or is BlueAnon contributing to the hacking of Alt NPS account? That's the part I don't get.

THANK YOU for delaying and disrupting. Thanks to Mark Kelly, also. Please use every procedural tool possible to slow the roll. And convince other DEM Senators to so the same.

Yeah, same. I actually showed up, with a small group, at both my senators' offices on Monday with an obstruction playbook in hand. Attending another such (larger) event in a few hours. We used this game plan: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Check out NC getting ON IT at their GOP Senator's office! (I went in person to my senators' offices in a small group yesterday, but this is particularly fab.) bsky.app/profile/wake...

Very cool. Somewhat related: check out Longtime Academy, a series of 6 podcast episodes. It talks about rights of nature, and rights of unborn generations. I really enjoyed it. www.thelongtimeacademy.com/home

I gotta say, I am down on AirBnB in general. I was a host for many years, but promptly stopped when I realized the practice hurts local housing supply. I think twice about using them, also. I was able to buy into their IPO because of my hosting, but I'm really thinking of selling out.

I can't speak to the SoCal chaparral habitat, but invasive grasses are a HUGE problem in SoAZ, especially as they pertain to fire regimes. It's only a matter of time for us.
