You’re forgiven - that was their first! And only to date, I think 😉

He scored against Argentina in the 2014 World Cup.

Yeah, I remember that and being like “this dude is gonna play with Dzeko, not USMNT” as much as I’d have loved for us to have such a pure striker haha

In high school, Vedad lined up a 40 yard free kick and absolutely LAUNCHED it top corner effortlessly. Like, just insane talent. But pretty cool to say I played against the guy who scored against Messi 😂

Played against Vedad Ibisevic in high school. That’s when any dream I had of playing pro ball disintegrated lol. Good Bundesliga career. Scored Bosnia’s first ever WC goal against Argentina in 2014. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vedad_I...

There’s some rumour he only wanted the first team if he could get the job on a permanent basis; not sure how credible that is. So instead he’s stewarding City2 while Critchley and his assistants manage the senior side (for now) as they intend to go back to City2 when a permanent manager is hired.

Would just love for Alm to be in the XI consistently but he just can’t stay healthy.

I know hindsight is 20/20 and all, but keeping a guy like Alm - who has been very effective but very injured - and leaving Kijima unprotected in the expansion draft will always baffle me (I’m sure there’s more to that decision, though).

Ngl as an STL fan/native, the pettiness between STL and KC never fails to give me a giggle

He had a lot working against him (loads of injuries mostly) but at least with us, he refused to adapt his system/XI. Players out of position, poor in-game management…it’s a shame because we got off to a decent start defensively, but then crumbled.

3) Lutz/Diego/etc absolutely cannot miss re: next coach or the summer transfer window.

2) Lutz has made a habit of signing players with significant injury histories and failed to provide meaningful depth. Any coach will be hamstrung by this, but Olof also failed to demonstrate any flexibility in XI or tactics to speak of. Did not help himself.

I know this is a joke but hot damn it would make my nostalgia very happy

Teuchert has been absolutely dreadful and should be relegated to the bench, Hartel way too inconsistent as a DP. Kessler had been very solid, though idk about Best XI or anything like that.

Re: Olof - his unwillingness to be flexible and try new things amidst such a poor run of form is baffling. MLS isn’t a hard league to figure out, either. He is the easy firing for sure.

My own take is it’s hard to look at how injuries have played a significant role this year and last year…and not question Lutz’s penchant for scouting/signing players with significant injury histories.
comment in response to post
Really? Cuz mine is of Teuchert getting a golden opportunity and smashing it right into the keeper like 4min before COL scored.

At least City2 won. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Teuchert can’t start.

Call up McSorely. Joyner I think only has one more loan available, but give other City2 guys a chance. Where is Miggy? Teuchert’s got the longest leash for absolutely no reason I can comprehend. The #AllforCity fanbase deserves much better than this.

…but something has to change. Olof keeps trotting out some version of the same XI hoping for better results. Klauss and Teuchert aren’t getting it done, yet we don’t see Becher/Celio/Silva get chances. Even after his goal, Célio is already riding the bench again.
comment in response to post
And of course he’s gifted with a golden opportunity and absolutely missed it. Then Colorado scores minutes later. I just don’t understand why he continues to get minutes over players like Célio, Silva, Becher when the biggest reason he has 3 goals is luck. More maddening decisions from Olof.

YES. PLEASE. Obvs everyone wants him to be more clinical. But his work rate at both ends, ability to hold/link is soooo important and he’s actually done that bit with flying colors IMO.

All I know is the IG account for #AllforCity hopped on the Ghibli-ifying AI trend a while back and got absolutely roasted in the comments, so. Can’t recall seeing anything since then, so maybe they learned? For now, at least.

Yaro is getting a lot of bad press in STL fan circles for some mistakes he’s made that have directly led to goals. Personally I am happy to have him - he’s fast, often gets his last-ditch tackles right, and off the pitch is great in the community. But he’s probably not a starter (great depth tho!).
