This means the most harmed women are the biggest targets of this idea and the ones who stand to gain the most from it. The funny thing being that it promises a world without gender policing after it is perfectly instituted. That’s how TERFs can be anti-gender and anti-trans. 2/2

Hear me out, I think it’s this. Maintaining womanhood means creating a hierarchy by which people are judged. A trans-exclusionary version of this involves policing at the boundaries which directly impacts less feminine presentations. The excuses around this are ‘protecting women.’ 1/2

Maybe I’ll be wooshed, but this is actually how at least one genocide has worked. There are no distractions.

My thing is I don’t think social network = social media. Like yes it is a place with social interaction capacities, but that isn’t enough. YT culture is very top-down and mostly revolves around reactions: Unlike other social media, almost all communication revolves entirely around the OP.

The equivalent of button-mashing for parry mechanics in video games. Like always waiting for an enemy to attack first, parrying, and then getting a return hit in.

Yeah, that would just mean you have a good conclusion and bad argument. Like if you said the money supply impacts prices but acted like that’s bc ppl value money more when it’s rare.

For individual adult devout Catholics? You’re right ofc. However the Church as an institution is not just that. When its doctrine is realized in teaching children, when people question their faith, when political leaders use it? The contradictions and variation matter a lot.

The right of men to govern women, whether or not it is exercised. (2/2)

I agree with the base elements of this interpretation, but I think it doesn’t provide a very helpful framework for most gender expressions (eg man-man relations, purity standards for men, prude-pure dual roles). It’s more accurate to describe it as the system to justify (1/2)

Yeah, you could literally just do a private, off-market mint and then all buyers hold the bag 😬

It always seemed queerphobic to me tbh. I think it’s meant to say the only way you could be that interested in someone else is if you’re gay or trans. I don’t think it’s exactly intentional, but it identifies queerness with obsession and fetishization, even to the point of violence.
