I keep coming back to the single-best piece of worldbuilding advice I ever heard, hilariously delivered to a man who was stuck because he hadn't given his hero enough potions to beat the boss: "you're a writer dude, if you need to cast a shadow move a mountain"

Hopping back on this one 🔴LIVE twitch.tv/hby_stuff

A full Studio Trigger anime with a soundtrack by Hiroyuki Sawano, and some kind of clever cyberpunk AU action RPG by Supergiant, changing the setting but keeping the personalities of the characters (it currently doesn't lend itself to a game). And lots of art commissions. Obviously. #writing

Finished A Kind Of Spark. I wasn't sure how high my expectations should be for a kid's book, but it knocked it out of the park once it got past establishing what autism is for its target demographic and picked up the pace. I see why it's cited so often for good autism rep. #BookSky

so Iron Widow rules Hamfisted at times? Yes. Incredibly fun to read? Also yes. Possibly even more relevant now than when it was published? [sighing as I stare blankly into the distance] I do in fact support women's wrongs #BookSky

Our thoughts and prayers go to all the people that still think Silksong is a real video game

Ebay has a feature where I can request combined shipping on a book order, but I have to commit to paying for the books. However, I am not going to pay for the books unless I get combined shipping. I have not received a response from the seller but Ebay keeps reminding me to pay for the books.

So I just finished This Is How You Lose the Time War and oh my god I'm just sitting here like, vibrating, realizing there's you really can just write a book based on Vibes and have it be amazing fucking incredible #BookSky

I'm so out of the loop on reading that I don't know as many as I'd like. Give me recs. Ash by Malinda Lo was the first sapphic book I read and a partial inspiration for Brass Roses. Sascha Stronach and Craig Schaefer aren't direct inspirations but are very good. #WritingPrompt #writing

#QueerPrompts #writing Thought I would have time to write and read and do all sorts of stuff when my job ended. Instead I'm just achy and tired and don't want to do anything but watch videos and play Nikki and Wildmender when I summon that much energy. Welp.

#MayWeDance #writing The game was fun and made me think about some aspects of the character dynamics a bit more. I also realized last night that I have written romance before Twinsoul, it was just in flash fiction form. Apparently this has in fact been a theme for me.

Cassie loves to cook and try new things. Arien has food trauma, and almost exclusively lives on meal replacement shakes. It's a major sign of trust when he starts trying the food she suggests, because she doesn't force him into it; she just lets him try a little of hers. 1/ #WritingPrompt #writing

Trying to scrub out two planters my father gave me and thinking it would be better to just go buy some because my back is killing me and they don't look like I even did anything The plants probably won't care but one looks like it got mildew sunk into the plastic and idk if it's dead

#MayWeDance #writing For writing in general, if there's a scene you're excited to write but it comes after stuff you aren't, go ahead and write the fun thing first. You can slot it in place later. Even if it ends up having to change, you got to play with the characters and that could be useful.

#QueerPrompts #writing That would require me to finish something first and that'll never happen I've had to do it for individual scenes, including the longest one I wrote because it didn't make sense. Annoying, but writing it was still useful for getting to know the characters.

Cassie plans some key points and the rest is fuck it we ball, Arien wants to see all the museums and tries to maximize it but he gets stressed by crowds and needs quiet immediately, Jason just wants to hang out on the beach, and Liza only came for the wine tasting event. #WritingPrompts #writing

#QueerPrompts #writing Cassie started learning to play violin but didn't have time for it during college. Arien inspires her to pick it back up. Arien loves animals but doesn't trust himself to take care of a pet, or have time for it. Cassie suggests he volunteer at a shelter.

#MayWeDance #writing Book 1 does! They solve the problem and go on to have a good life together. ...Until book 2 happens and the problem turns out to have merely been biding its time for the past decade+ and teamed up with new problems.

#MayWeDance #writing Cassie wants someone with her values who can keep up with her trying new things, and Arien wants safety and understanding. They both want to share their interests and experiences and have someone steadfast beside them. They weren't looking, but they found it nonetheless.

I've used Gdocs for years, but I'm moving over to Novlr for long projects because the chapter and notes sections are REALLY handy. I'm trying out Ellipsus for smaller projects but idk yet. The indent button might do it, though; I write on mobile a lot and not having that in docs is annoying.

Most of my ideas are inspired by music, whether specific songs or general vibes. I've always imagined choreography in my head listening to music and I've lost track of how many scenes are basically the equivalent to that but with narrative. 1/ #WritingPrompts #writing

#QueerPrompts #writing Cassie got decent at sports in school and still plays small versions with friends. She's good enough at volleyball to be slightly unfair at picnics. Arien couldn't do sports as a kid because of his health problems, and he never picked them up. 1/

#MayWeDance #writing More characters in equal relationships who trust each other and are stronger together. They can start off on rocky footing as long as the bond forming is actually shown on page. I don't understand the current overwhelming popularity of shadow daddy enemies to lovers. 1/
