I think that’s a real risk for the US. Better for Canada to have proximate trade, but there are certainly other markets that would like to work with Canada

I’m really not sure. Navy is part of the National Ice Center & I believe there’s data and collection methods sharing. Not sure how big the impact could be to Arctic operations but will ask around

I don’t know. On the other hand, what’s the enforcement mechanism? Especially if there’s some kind of escort How much time do these nodule operations need to make the haul worth the cost? I suspect this is to prod ISA, but not sure the USG will pass up the opportunity.

Also, this orchid originated in Mexico, where the only natural pollinator is from. The Melipona bee is nearly extinct, though, so pollination is by hand now.

Good point. The person I was talking to was concerned with nuclear weapons & attacks on & inadequacy of electricity grids & other energy systems. Those things don’t have to be in opposition to climate action imho
