I got her a beautiful hand-turned gavel when she got appointed anyway, because GAVEL. 👩‍⚖️

I was disappointed too—like you, I feel like if you’re not absolutely whaling away with the gavel while roaring “ORDER! ORDER IN THE COURT, MOTHERFUCKERS!” then what is even the point—but she says the gavel is unnecessary.

My sister is a judge, and she says the gavel is not really a thing. When she makes her decision, she just MAKES it, and its validity is not affected by hitting anything on anything. Order in her courtroom is her bailiff’s job.

And terabytes of extremely sensitive data were stolen and are being monetized by Musk for his own profit.

O.o “Disappointed” is certainly one way to describe the expected reaction to “we’re stealing your money”. Maybe they know some writers who can help them think of other words!

The book cited--African Fractals--sounds amazing and I've just bought it, so thanks for this!

It's an open-and-shut violation of black letter law (i.e. the law explicitly says they can't do this), but do go on describing it as simply "raising concerns". Anything for Trump and your wealthy owners, am I right?

Okay, but BESIDES his wife, his brother, a random journalist, whoever hacked the Signal clone he was using, and any hostile foreign intelligence services who have compromised his personal phone, Hegseth has been a total fortress of secrecy! Checkmate, libs!

For a concrete demonstration of this, check out the number of Democrats who support infanticide (i.e. 0) versus the number of voters who think they do. Why would a media environment that invents horrific lies like that be counted on to honestly and accurately report Democratic policy positions?

My child self nods in approval at this eminently sensible decision. (Also Wellington is beautiful.)

Respectfully, I think you've left some key assumptions unchallenged. The Right owns the media apparatus: they're going to use the "socialist!!! EXTREME leftist!!!!!!" label no matter what positions Democrats do or do not take. It isn't a question of actual positions and it hasn't been for years.
