But they'll do it in hours instead of seconds and at 100x the cost .

I've been developing for decades. It's good enough to replace a significant amount work the average tech worker does . It is already affecting the job market. No use putting your head in the sand.

It's really useful for killing jobs at Amazon and Microsoft. I for one welcome the inevitable ubi and meaningless existence and our new corporate overlords.

The top 1% pays $1 trillion in federal taxes alone. Undocumented immigrants pay $20 billion while federal expenditures for undocumented aliens cost over $60 billion.

Yet again is myopically tech focused. It's not just software jobs that will be automated away. It's damn near every white collar job. What a wonderful future where we have the option of being pleasure addled bags of flesh or meat for the manual labor grinder.

Please , they're too focused on replacing the need for any students and hiring only AI.

Really... they all seem to suck. Hell even Blusky is full of people loving assassinations.

Every AI interview is some uber rich tech guy salivating about AGI that will inevitably make them even wealthier. As for the fate of millions of middle class white collar workers, they have no clue just idiotic ideas like running our own startups... all of us! GTFO.

Sure but then you'd need to add a multiplier factor per child. Literally almost every cost of living increase is multiplied per kid.

What stats do you have to back any of these claims up. If what you said was true the nations that provide the best benefits to families they should see higher birth rates. Instead they see the same level of decline as the rest of developed nations.

Low birth rates are going to take away your SS eventually.

This is a terrible idea. You want the guy rushing to release AGI Armageddon to power the next social media giant?

AI is going to take all the good jobs. There'll be more enough workers for the low paying ones.

Listen to economist Jessica Riedl . It can't be fixed under Democracy. The nedded fixes are unpalatable to both sides.

It's dead. We have 200 trillion in unfunded liabilities mostly due to entitlements. To top it off those estimates are based on wildly optimistic birth rates.

Nice work! Good to finally hear an informed opinion other than the flood of uninformed "scientist" click bait articles.

Killing or being killed is pretty much the main feature of living nature.

It seems like a truly horrible system where one nation cutting funding will reverse all progress. Obviously the rest of the world needs to step up so that if one country falters all progress is not lost.

Yeah that seems insane. Literal gangs would control everything. The far right could kill whoever they want and get a couple of years in jail at worst if they get caught .

So what stops someone from stealing everything they want?

They regularly get arrested and imprisoned.

People were having plenty of kids in one room homes with no power for centuries... isn't not about the benefits is about wanting the freedom. Time and again government incentives like parental leave and free child care have failed to make significant changes to birth rates.

The inevitable fallout of this is that secular populations will gradually lose power and extremely religious ones will wield an ever increasing control over society.
comment in response to

This article completely ignores all the stats that show countries implementing policies that address many of the issues listed haven't seen any significant increase in birth rates and certainly no increase that would bring rates back to replacement levels.

Don't count on it. Warren Buffet with the same diet and similar body is still going strong at 94. His buddy Munger, also similar made it to 99.
