Difference between daft trumper rhetoric in the press Vs actual legal charges based on current evidence in a given jurisdiction.

Thanks! Much appreciated.

It would be great to have a link to those studies? The ONS study doesn't collate by ethnicity, the Home Office study had the paragraph suggesting overrepresented minority groups that the BBC article cites. I'm a total layman but it'd be good to have some data to rebut the Reform relatives....

Let's not forget his brilliant strategy against the Houthis where he lost three jet fighters in the space of a few weeks.

Grotesque racism. My worry is that Reform are onto something with this 'decay of the high street' stuff. Reform policies will likely worsen the problem, but I think the issue will resonate with voters.

Even metaphorically, it isn't one. You don't really get the feeling anyone other than Stephen Miller actual thinks it is. Trump says the word like even he can't really bring any conviction to the delivery.

"In a bold reimagining of what it is to lead a democracy, Trump (a draft dodger) is crushing the first amendment rights of his own citizens to slake his thirst for looking tough."

The problem with the media and government is they let Trump deal with law as if it were metaphor. So the laws about*actual* invasions get used for metaphorical, or just 'perceived' invasions.

When you drive in Germany, Sat Nav apps aren't allowed to tell you speed cameras are coming up. That avoids the rubberbanding effect you see everywhere in Britain.

Musk got his tax cuts and his regulatory worries went away because all regulatory bodies were gutted.

Is it really even an allegation given the mountain of video, photo, trial and other witness testimony?
comment in response to post
That bit is a misleading bit of testimony, unfortunately. Joss himself said the house burned down because they had a fire inside they left unattended. youtu.be/DiwoRdcmFl4?... That doesn't diminish the horrific attack or the years of abuse they suffered.

It's overall a terrific film, the first half is brilliant and the antagonist is a strong performance and the romance works and the score and cinematography are ace. The CGI fights get a bit tired but hey, you can't have everything.

Um, do you know what a speed camera is?

Shapiro and Crowder are talentless debaters and would be destroyed in any moderate context. They use the cheapest tactics and highly selective editing to post "wins" against unprepared children fifteen years their junior.

I did once tell someone that I was astonished at their conduct.

It won't, if the former Trump 1 cavalcade currently enjoying fat TV commentator salaries are anything to go by...

Of all the fascism rising in the USA, the restriction on your liberty to drive your death wagon at illegal speeds is not, perhaps, the fascism of most pressing concern.
comment in response to post
Take a look at US road deaths trending up Vs every other developed nation. Also way higher per capita.

Yup, cracking film. Good supporting cast, too.

No, you're right. We can just take the money from the money pile that we've got sitting there.
comment in response to post
Or we can use reasoning and inference to pose a question to the public figure celebrating the change of social media. Or you could try to suggest other ways the money will appear than the one above.

I get the same vibe from cycling, indoor or out. More commonly indoor. Might be the structure that indoor training tends to have. Same time frame.

You won't generally get a high from a 5k. I mean, you might be elated at progress but that's not it. For me, usually about 40 mins into a gentle longer run. Music helps. You might find yourself more emotional or more inclined to push hard. Don't forget to stretch though, just because you feel great.

This means, surely, the off peak travellers (more typically unemployed, young, pensioners, leisure) will be subsidising the peak services for the commuters with jobs. Seems likely to be in effect a regressive tax.

Right, Jimmy, whereabouts in Canada do you live and how long ago did your ancestors genocide the First Nation peoples in that area? Look into your own history before you get all righteous.

It's some Hitler and white supremacy reference. 14 and 88. Somehow. You can Google it. This is just nutty though.

What's the Constitutional remedy someone in Congress could effect, other than complaining on social media?
comment in response to post
What's the remedy for this? Impeachment, presumably? So... Nothing?

Agree. Giving them the due process they deny others is the moderate position.

Abolition is the starting point. Prosecute them with due process is the moderate position. Proactively assert the second amendment is radical.

It'll be acted upon as if it were law. The tariffs will be altered. It's as real as any law trump has enacted by EO. Ask Abrego Garcia how real that is.

CS1 runs parallel and is a decent alternative with mostly very quiet streets, often part of LTNs. It's not perfect but if it's a busy time, the A10 can be a crush so CS1 is preferable.
