I'm cynical but passionate and optimistic about the future. I'm into landscape fauna ecology especially in the arid and semi arid zones. 😁 PS not a huge fan of cat and puppy photos.

As with you, my experience is companies lack the will and intent to take rehabilitation seriously. Personally, decades of recommendations (usually the same ones, repeated over and over because they were not listening) to provide effective ecological outcomes were mostly ignored on so many projects.
comment in response to post
But don't worry. They'll placate the masses by ensuring the usual excreted "strongest possible conditions" are applied to the project, i.e., Sweet F@#$ck All.

This is really important solar power is cheaper but there has been a rise in the costs of equipment

Definitely not denying that. It just seems decades of confected angst have resulted in an "out of sight, out of mind" approach to the situation. A few tries to resolve the issues here and there but no concerted effort.
comment in response to post
Selectively so, as is the want of superpowers.

I venture to say well before then. Decades of turning a blind eye to the situation in the hope it would all go away. However, my point is Trump and his administration are too easily manipulated by foreign actors - Putin, Netenyahu, the Royal families of Saudi and Qatar, etc. He is too weak willed.

They have nothing but simpleton childish retorts dependent on personal attacks. They offer nothing but churlish ignorance. Being an activist can be a good and rewarding thing, but these jokers are your typical weekend chardonnay activists - all puff and no substance. I blocked them. They belong on X

Jut one of the so many ways in which the USA has damaged itself or allowed others to damage its very soul since the ascendancy of the Cult of the Orange Cockwomble.

Did you seek out who "peer reviewed" the drafts? Were they industry advisors, lobbyists, government advisors, or real scientists with the expertise in the subject matter?

I totally agree on your general thrust, although, as with their compatriots to the east of the range, their rehabilitation has been exceedingly poor. Rehabilitation will never replace what has been lost, and will never happen under the influence of rapid anthropogenic climate change.

I'm sure your mummy will be back to change your nappy. Happy basement time, Troll.

Awwwh! I actually have work to do, but I am sure your mummy will be back soon to change your nappy. Happy basement time, Troll.

I simply used the words you find in many descriptions. That is why I retained the quotes. What I actually think they were is another matter. If you need to add untruths to justify your confected angst, go right ahead. There seems to be a few of you X escapees infesting Bluesky.

Don't take this the wrong way, but given you add nothing to the conversation but insults and ignorance, I do have to get back to life. You and your mates can wallow in whatever simpleton ideological dogmatic universe you wish - you can watch the world pass you by.

I cannot change the manner in which they were portrayed. That is a factual recount. "Freedom fighters" is a matter of perspective.
comment in response to post
LOL, it is nice to know I described you so accurately - childish, ignorant, etc.
comment in response to post
I have simply described you accurately.
comment in response to post
Again, who cares? Your childish naive attempt at gaslighting simply out you as slimy simpletons who really do need to return to the sewer of X.
comment in response to post
Prior to Oct 6, Hamas was still a terrorist organisation and the Netenyahu government supported domestic terrorism against Palestinians.
comment in response to post
As I said, you need to go back to that cesspit at X - it is more suited to your juvenile ignorant binary contrarianism.

Whatever you say, X-man.

Good on you for confirming you deal in either-or option because of your inability to deal with the complexities of life. The best you can do is gaslight, create straw men, assume in order to justify your dogma. You need to learn to live in the real world or just go back to X.
comment in response to post
Both terrorist organisations. Grow up.
comment in response to post
I'm fine with politics. I just do not waste my time with pig-ignorant extremist and fundamentalists who can only ever see one side of any issue (their side).
comment in response to post
You need to go back to X to be with your kindred spirits, the rednecks, the gaslighters, the misinformers, the extremists who live in ideologically binary unicorn universes, etc.
comment in response to post
True to your Profile tag - Vacant. I just like to add irrelevant to the conversation.
comment in response to post
You're extremism is reflected in the ignorance of your "attack". You, like Netenyahu, like Hamas are part of the problem.
comment in response to post
I do not get into absolutism because it is the sewer of the imbecile. Do not assume what I know or do not know just to satisfy your myopic ignorance.

But with CSIRO now set up as the scapegoat/"best available science" puppet, it is a win-win for the industry sector and Bowen.

Not forgetting, horses, goats, camels, loss of ecoengineer species, apex and meso predators, removal of custodians and changed fire regimes, etc. (I'm sure I can think of more - Europeans orchestrated a huge impact on this country in the last +200 years).
comment in response to post
Central Australia is a very big place stretching over a few States and Territories 😁. The intro of livestock, the destruction of woodlands for railways, mining and agriculture, the impact of rabbits and introduced predators, the introduction of pasture grasses/weeds have all changed it dramatically.
comment in response to post
There's the beginning of a heard. Climate Change and an Orange Cockwomble (although he is likely to dissipate sooner rather than later).
comment in response to post
They claim the pop has been isolated because of cats and foxes when habitat loss due to mining and agriculture were, and still are the prime factors impacting on the species. Cat and Fox are quite a severe impact, but are often used to deflect from major the anthropogenic impacts of habitat loss.

Zionism, is theoretically, a belief in an Israeli State. How that is translated into action is what you are referring to. I agree, the enmity built up over the last 70 years is now overarching, but we cannot dismiss the efforts of those from both sides who believe a peaceful solution is possible.
comment in response to post
Why would he waste time lobbying when he is the party room and they can just "chat" over a snifter of brandy and a cigar?
comment in response to post
In the same manner the original "freedom fighters" for the State of Israel strove to establish a free and Jewish land (Zionism), and has now been corrupted to include the dehuminisation and terror of anyone who contradict that ethos, Hamas have also devolved from "protectors" to a terrorist rabble.
comment in response to post
I'm tired of the worn out tropes about who killed children more than who killed other children. Terrorists are indiscriminate killers. There is no distinction between Netenyahu and his ethnic cleansing/lebensraum or Hamas and their corrupted rivers to ocean dogma. My concern is for the victims.
comment in response to post
Their actions are as indiscriminate as the actions of, say, illegal settlers in the occupied territories. There is never any possible justification of the use of force, but we (as a species) mould it to suit our sensibilities of the time. So I call out Hamas as terrorists as I do the Netenyahu govt.
comment in response to post
Ukraine is a sovereign nation. I guess we class them as neither as they are fighting to maintain that sovereignty. I am a believer in the two State solution as the only means of ensuring a strong, peaceful, and secure Palestine and Israel.
comment in response to post
Succinctly put. It is a conflict between terrorist groups (Hamas/Hezbollah/Iran and Netenyahu extremist nationalists).
